Wonderful spot to stay

I found this property to meet or exceed any place I have stayed in Kenyan countryside. The property was well cared for and the entire staff from the front gate to the front desk were wonderfully hospitable. The restaurant served Kenyan cuisine that was value price and tasty even to an American palate. The complimentary breakfast was excellent with fresh pineapple, oranges, watermelon and bananas every morning along with hot items such as sausage. pancakes, hard boiled eggs and chapti. Bottled water was always available and two bottles (0.5 liters each) were provided in the room everyday. The bed was comfortable and never once saw a mosquito although I did sleep under my net. I recommend this property very highly.

Signage visible on main road.
Comfortable and clean.
Bar and restaurant. Noisy music in the evenings.
Good food menu, wide variety of mixed veg and non veg.
Nice breakfast spread.
Swimming ‍♂️ pool facilities. Conference rooms.
Plenty of parking

Value for money

One of the best around Kapsabet. Spacious rooms for the price. Neat and serene. Wonderful manager, ever ready to help. Has a swimming pool, though you might never use it due to the weather. It's not a very hot/humid area. Ample, secure parking.
A few things can be improved though. Wardrobes and the doors are quite old. Need a replacement. Some rooms need repainting.
Generally, it's an OK place. Nothing extraordinary, yet good enough for your comfort.

Not a good experience

Nothing was really up to standards. No one at reception when we arrived. It was raining and we had to go all over the place to find someone to check us in. Even the restaurant staff could not help us.
The rooms were in really bad shape. The carpet was disgustingly stained and so was the white linen on the bed. The rusted caulking around the shower and sink made it hard to see if it was stained or dirty. There was a neon light out my window which made it so hard to sleep even with the curtains drawned. Finally there is no noise insulation. You can hear everything. Even in middle of week people were blasting music until 1 am and it started again at 7 am.
The restaurant was pathetic. The staff was very busy watching Brazilian telenovellas... we asked for a spaghetti with tomato sauce. The waitress came back to ask if we wanted the ketchup sauce hot or cold.... she brought the ‘chef’ so we could explain what was tomato sauce. He had no clue. So we ate French fries for dinner! He could not suggest anything else!!!
Never again.

Lovely little hotel with good egg sandwich!

This was a nice clean place compared to other places nearby. The food was plenty with a menu. My favourite item on this was a milkshake with egg toasted sandwich. There is a pool but it was closed when i was last there. The room was as clean as you expect in the average standards around the village with mosquito nests provided.
