Japanese style hostel . Not far from JR station just walk 600 meters from JR station. Breakfast is excellent style home made .

The proprietor is the loveliest lady you'll ever meet, and the location is walkable from the Tsuruoka station. There's just a stale scent in the corridors even though the windows are open for ventilation

Nice, friendly ryokan

There are not a lot of accommodation options in Tsuruoka, but this is one of the them and as far as budget accommodation is concerned, it's as good as there is in town.
There's a car park, and I had a single room which did include a TV and toilet, but not a shower - that was shared. The receptionist didn't really speak another language other than Japanese but nevertheless did everything she could to help me including finding bread and jam for mu breakfast as I must admit finding a Japanese breakfast a bit hard to stomach. There was a huge spread of Japanese food for breakfast if you like it though.
I believe there was wifi too, the room was cool and Japanese style with futon and tatami mats. Good, central location too. Definitely would recommend it!

C'était tellement agréable de séjourner ici !
L'emplacement est proche de tout, l'établissement un peu vieillot mais c'est ce qui fait tout son charme. Il est très confortable et le bruit de la route n'est pas dérangeant : personnellement j'ai très bien dormi ! Et surtout, la propriétaire est une vieille dame tellement adorable, et excellente cuisinière !
On se sent comme chez soi, merci beaucoup !
