THE BEST!

In all my travels, be it domestic or international, this's one of the best lodging I came across. It's so clean and the rooms are considered spacious and comfortable by Japanese standard. The bathroom is spacious with very thoughtful and good amenities. The hotel is very disabled friendly - from the entrance, wide corridors, spacious bathroom and bedroom, the entire building is built for the disabled in mind.
The host (owner as well) & his family are humble, warm, gracious and attentive people. Meals can be added in, advance booking with reasonable price. We had dinner and breakfast, included with our stay. We were so happy with our meals – the host’s wife is a great cook! We have had a nice, sumptuous, authentic Japanese food and I bet you would not have it so good elsewhere!
Highly recommended to stay here if you are heading to Lake Mashu or Lake Kushiro, or just stay for a night or two for a relax and stress free holiday.

A tranquil atmosphere hotel in Teshikaga

One can say this hotel is in the middle of nowhere. But this is the attractiveness of the hotel. When we arrived at around 7pm, the moment we opened the car doors, we could smell the nature. There was no sound other than some bugs chirping nearby. The hotel only has one level. I am a disabled person on an electric scooter. And I'd say the hotel is pretty spacious for me to move around. The corridor was wider than usual. The room was big, and we had 4 beds to ourselves. The bathroom was disabled-friendly. There was a levelled showering area for the disabled, then a tub for normal users. The bed was a bit low in height but mattress was firm and nice to sleep on. I initially did not order dinner, thinking to decide when we arrive. Then we found out if without reservation, they wouldn't have spare to sell us. We ended up driving 5 minutes away for reman at the Teshikaga Remen head office. It was a good alternative. Overall it's a good stay in Teshikaga area. Once you came out of Lake Mashu First Observatory it's within 10 minutes arrival.

２０年前、私と妻と二人で話し合い、体が不自由でも高齢者でも、ベビーカー利用の方でも「誰でも安心して宿泊できるホテル」を作ろうと決心いたしました。
最近では外国からも体に障害を持つお客様が増え、摩周湖など大自然との触れ合いを楽しんいただいています。
今度は是非ホテルの食事を楽しんで下さい。贅沢な料理ではありませんが、すべて妻が作っています。

Great hospitality, food & comfort.

Spotlessly clean offering a unique service for anyone especially for disabled people enhanced the quality and attractiveness of this stay.
The hosts display great charm, care & attentiveness. Food is excellent and accommodation likewise.
Fantastic location very near to main sights with extensive books and handmade arts to look and buy.
Above spaciously appointed rooms allows westerners not used to economy of space room to relax. Bathrooms are fantastic with large deep baths and excellent pre bath shower areas easily used. slightly off the beaten track but very close to travel to wonderful twitching and stunning scenery of this volcanic region. Local river Onsens are a must.
Happy to recommend.

Autumn in Eastern Hokkaido

What a great place to base yourself near Lake Mashu and Lake Kussharo. With day trips to Lake Akan and Shiretoko National parks easily done. The hosts are extremely helpful and the food a delight. Sure the guest house feels like an aged care facility but it is extremely clean and very pleasant

宿泊いただいている間、私達も大変愉快な時間を持つことが出来ました。
感謝いたします。
当館は高齢者や体の不自由な方でも、赤ちゃん連れでも、誰でも安心して泊まっていただけるホテルを目指しています。
従いまして、行動に一番不自由である車椅子利用のお客様に焦点を合わせて設計しており、広い廊下にドアーは引き戸を採用、病院みたいな雰囲気が漂ってしまっているのかも知れません。
泊まりいただく部屋にはそのようなことにないよう配慮しています。
まだまだ配慮が足りない箇所が多く、今回のようなご意見は本当に有難いです。
また、お会いできることを楽しみにしています。

Hospitable stay at Lake mashu.

What sets this place apart from other accommodation is the personal touch of the owner and his wife. The dinner was specially prepared by the wife and included speciality dishes from the region. Breakfast was also an elaborate affair with a traditional Japanese breakfast spread.
Located just five minutes drive away from Lake mashu, the hotel serves as a great base to visit the lake. With the large sliding doors, the place is also very wheelchair friendly.
The owner was very thoughtful in providing us with some written info in English on the area.

当ホテルは部屋数１４室の小さなホテルで、オーナーの私と妻と二人で運営しております。
小さなホテルですので、お客様の顔と名前が一致し、できるだけくつろいでいただくように心がけています。
あまり英語は得意ではありませんが、お客様とのコミュニケーションを出来るだけ取れるようにしております。
