Sweet, traditional and beautiful!

This staying was amazing! Nothing better if you wish to experience a traditional stay in a kyoto house. This place is worthy and the breakfast is traditional food too! The hosts are nice and helpful. They have also a great advices and are reliable if you have a problem.

Very comfortable, affordable Japanese guesthouse

This place is the reason I'm trying to go back to Kyoto. This is literally a 4 room hotel. I stayed in two of those rooms. Both top notch, but I'd stay at the Gengetsu if i had a choice. I feel like i'm in a boring japanese movie, which is a good thing, cause all I did was sit around and enjoy the comfort of the room. Staff is wonderful.The breakfast is both healthy and good.

Good experience with tradition Japanese old building

A century old Japanese traditional wooden house. Two stories with 4 rooms only. Very basic facilities but an experience you could not find else where. You can appreciate the old building and also expect what comes with it: poor sound proof, less privacy, wooden staircase, paper door and etc. Newly built bathroom with traditional Japanese bathtub. It's great but not for everyone.
The owner will make traditional Japanese breakfast for you which is heart-warming.
Highly recommended for those who wants to experience Japanese old building and culture.

雰囲気がすごく素敵。インテリアもセンスよく。
布団、お風呂と快適。
掃除も行き届いています。
朝ごはんはシンプルながら日本的でとても満足。
