AWFUL EXPERIENCE !!!!! DO NOT GO THERE !!!!!!
The main problem arises right from the booking procedure on the establishment's website. It requires the entry of credit card details to guarantee the reservation, even though making an advance payment is not mandatory. I provided the details of a virtual card and no amount was charged at the time of booking.
The surprise came at the end of the stay when I was asked for €199, while I had viewed and booked a rate of €190 on the website. I did not receive any clear confirmation justifying this difference, and the explanations provided were far from satisfactory.
As if that weren't enough, I was asked for an additional €6 for the city tax, which had already been paid. I was then told that the receipt would be left in an envelope in the room, an envelope that I never found.
The room, moreover, was far from the standards one would expect from an establishment that calls itself a boutique hotel: extremely uncomfortable and worn mattress, practically collapsed, and very poor cleanliness, with visible dust in several places in the room.
However, the worst part of the experience was the customer management. When contacting the establishment by phone to ask for clarification about the €9 difference, the manager was extremely rude and unprofessional, even going so far as to tell me that he would "cover" those €9 himself because it cost him more to stay on the phone with me than to cover the difference.
But can a customer really be treated this way just for asking for clarification on an amount they are being asked to pay? Personally, I do not find it acceptable.
We are a couple that travels a lot, often staying in hotels and accommodations of all categories, but we have never encountered such a lack of courtesy, professionalism, and respect towards the customer.
Never again.
AVOID THIS STRUCTURE. In Trieste, there are definitely better, more transparent solutions that are especially more attentive to their guests.
