Half Board Stay at Motorcyle Tour - Rich Breakfast, Qualitiy Dinner, Friendly, Smoking Staff

We've stayed for two nights at "Hotel Schwarzer Adler" in Tesimo during a motorcylce tour through the Dolomite Alps. The Hotel is located a little off the valley, some 10 or 15 kilometres from Merano and Bolzano. The village Tesimo is at half way between the two cities.
The Hotel itself is located in a calm street in Tesimo, a village in the middle of South Tirol's apple plantations. it has parking lots for cars and motorbikes. The rooms are clean and simple. Nothing exceptional, but it will do, since you will be riding bike, motorcylce or going hiking the whole day anyway.
Breakfast was rich, with different kinds of bread (beware of the one with caraway), jams, ham, eggs, cheese, muesli, coffee and juices. But the real great thing is dinner: Consider South Tirol a rather pricy area. You will probably find good cheap food for dinner, but since you're already there, you should try some "indigenous" dishes. The half board option includes a whole dinner menue á la carte. This means you will have starter, main dish and dessert worth between 25 and 35 Euro included in your room price. AND THE FOOD IS DELICIOUS!
If you cannot stand smokers, the Schwarzer Adler is probably not the right place for you. The staff, all family members, I guess, smokes all the time. I mean, not when they are working, but every minute of free time, they will have a cigarette in their hands. This doesn't make them bad people. They are nice, helpful, friendly and sometimes funny (but this depends on if you understand them - linguistically).
All in all, Hotel Schwarzer Adler is not a cheap place, but worth every dime. If you're really on a tight budget, you should probably search for a hostel or a place with half board and a fixed menue. But it is not a high class Hotel either. So if you want something original and a bit more sophisticated, it's the right place to stay.

Nice atmosphere!

A pleasant hotel in a nice little town above Merano. I stopped in late one night on a bike trip and was easily accommodated for a very reasonable price in a nice little single. The only mild quirk was that the rooms weren't stocked with any sort of soap. I suspect that omission may have been a result of my late and unexpected arrival.
Dinner at the attached restaurant was good, as well. Overall, just the stay I was hoping for!

Camera ottima, pulizia impeccabile, piscina non utilizzabile per manutenzione, accoglienza ottima, colazione: piccola la sala, ottima qualità del cibo, servizio ok

Gutes Hotel in Südtirol, sauber, gut zu erreichen, allerdings sind Möbel im Stile der 90er Jahre, die Rezeption nur bis 18 Uhr besetzt und die Zimmer nicht klimatisiert

Hotellet er OK, men fra gaden belagt med brosten var der megen støjende trafik og fra kirken overfor slår kirkeklokkerne for hvert kvarter. Så nattesøvnen var ikke den bedste
Morgenmaden var perfekt
Receptionen var ikke åben under vores ophold. Vi måtte ringe til nummer ved ankomst for at få nærmere besked på hvilket værelse vi skulle være på og hvor nøglen lå. Vi lagde nøglen i receptionen ved afrejse
