No customer service
We booked this apartment nearly three months ago and, unfortunately, the communication and customer service were among the worst we have experienced.
As a travel agent with World Travel Holdings, one of the largest travel organizations in the United States, I understand that delays and unexpected situations can happen. What should never happen is leaving guests without information, assistance, or timely responses.
Before our arrival, we received no communication regarding check-in procedures or apartment access. While on the train to Siena, we reached out to ask about luggage storage and transportation from the train station. We arrived around 11:00 AM and were told we could not enter the apartment until 3:00 PM. We then asked if we could at least drop off our luggage, but did not receive a response until after noon.
After multiple messages, we were finally told we could leave our luggage in the building foyer and hope it remained secure. At 2:11 PM, we were told someone would meet us and allow us into the apartment by 2:30 PM. No one arrived until 2:47 PM.
The 17-minute delay was not the issue. The issue was the complete lack of communication, responsiveness, and concern for arriving guests. After traveling for hours, guests should not have to wonder where to leave their luggage, how to access the property, or whether anyone is actually coming to meet them.
Whether a guest is staying one night or six nights, basic hospitality and communication should be expected. Unfortunately, neither was provided in our case.
The situation became so frustrating that I felt more comfortable forfeiting the money I had already paid and booking another hotel. The customer service I received from the hotel was better during a two-minute phone call than the service I received from Sallustio Rooms during the entire booking and arrival process.
As a result, we chose to stay elsewhere rather than continue dealing with the uncertainty surrounding this reservation.
I cannot recommend Sallustio Rooms and would strongly encourage future travelers to consider other accommodations.
