An Italian Gem
A lovely hotel with pretty gardens and swimming pool. The room we stayed in was clean with comfortable beds and was cleaned every day. The staff were outstanding. They were friendly, courteous and extremely helpful. It was a pleasure to stay there as they made you feel welcome. The buffet breakfast was plentiful and varied. Dinner was not buffet but a different menu each evening served to you by the friendly waiters. Overall a lovely hotel which contributed to a wonderful holiday.

Far from the center!
Hotel is located about 2.7 km from the center of Sorrento. In a beautiful large manicured garden with pool.
Our room was on the 1st floor. Floor, relatively small, with ancient furniture, very worn out. The box (doors squeak when opening and closing), the secretary and the night boxes are estimated to be more than 100 years old and corner when opening and closing.
No wardrobe or hooks available where you could have hung your jacket.
Room very noisy from all sides.
The bathroom also ancient and so of dirty and dirty and I dare to say that it was not cleaned. There was hair everywhere, on the sink, on the floor, on the toilet, in the toilet itself, in the shower, even the used and dirty plastic toothbrush cup (see photo) was still standing there. The shower rug was totally dirty (see photo) and was never cleaned or replaced. Barefoot, I would never have gotten on it. It was also not cleaned in the bathroom the following days. Only the towels were changed. No, we've never seen anything like this. Just disgusting and gruesome. Shelving areas virtually none available.
We stayed here as part of a guided tour, and so unfortunately we could not change the hotel.
Breakfast: Good breakfast, great choice, plentiful offer. The order coffee/tea you either did not get at all, or if you were already finished with breakfast.
Dinner: 3 course menu, choice available, as well as a salad buffet.
Staff friendly and helpful throughout. Partly a bit chaotic with the ordering and serving of drinks.
The wine prices are very overpriced, you pay for a glass of regional ital. White wine Euro 7 and Euro 8. Also the prices at the bar for an Aperol Spritz or Limoncello Spritz Euro 12—I didn’t find ok.
Supermarket about 400 m away.

Superb holiday
We had a wonderful holiday in sorrento. The staff at Hotel Alpha were lovely.
The swimming pool was a decent size and no issues getting sun loungers mid week but very busy at weekends as the pool appeared to be open to the public so we couldn’t get seated at the poolside and even garden area was very busy,
Aquafit and Pilates charged at €15 which I’d have expected to be included for guests a 4 star hotel with no other activities.
Our room was nice, very small but clean and air conditioning was great. The shutter and the balcony door handle broke however the staff fixed later in the day so it wasn’t an issue.
Breakfast was ok. Dinner was great and the gala dinner was superb!
The prices of drinks at the hotel were significantly higher than any other bar restaurant we went to in sorrento Positano and Amalfi which was a bit of a surprise! The teo 5 star hotels overlooking the bay, just a short walk away were amazing for a night out and much cheaper.
We were also charged for drinks we had already paid for on check out. After 40 minutes it was eventually resolved so just be carful and check your bill on check out and give yourself plenty of time to make sure they are able to sort this. We have never experienced an issue like this ever!
A superb holiday, our fourth time in Italy. The hotel Alpha unfortunately is the only hotel we would not return to or recommend. Much better standard of hotels in the area to choose from

Not 4 Star !
Hmm ,not what we would have hoped for on our first visit to Italy, unfortunately not 4 star it’s a shame if the management think it is ! Very dated rooms , we had to move as the road noise and the staff emptying the bottle bins at 3 in the morning were to much for us to sleep , we had a room facing the garden their after which was much quieter and too small but we slept , many things said about the food in reviews which is a shame if the management aren’t reading them , they need too ( over stewed veg , a few potato cubes , sweets were dry if it was a cake ) the starters were better than the mains , pastas and risotto’s were nice , breakfasts were drab cereals fruit and yogurt were fine .
It’s a shame because the saving grace in this hotel are the staff they try very hard , bar staff and restaurant staff they need to be appreciated and not sure if they are pool staff great also .
Pool quality is very good and plenty of loungers .
Plenty of comments on the price of drinks and lunch food but if you went somewhere else to eat and drink you would save .
A tired hotel which needs a refurb , showers , bathrooms and rooms , we liked the position but no disabled access if you were wheelchaired and no slopes for step access , there is no way this is 4 star .
Gardens were pleasant but if you were infirmed you couldn’t use the paths as they were so uneven .
It just thinks it is something it is not , I feel for the staff as they were great .
It’s a shame because the saving grace in this hotel are the staff they try very hard , bar staff and restaurant staff they need to be appreciated and not sure if they are pool staff great also .

Big letdown was the Breakfast.ALSO THE COST OF DRINKS.A large beer at the bar is 40cl at the pool it is smaller
Well it was good Hotel near 4 Star . BUT not 4 star food .Location great .Not a lot of outside food near by
