Charming!

Ideally located hotel for those wishing to visit Rome; the main sites are a 30-minute walk away, otherwise the area is very well served by buses.
The staff is truly lovely both at breakfast and at the reception, and is always available.
The rooms take you back in time, which helps with the change of scenery and adds charm to the trip.

When booking this hotel, the booking clearly stated “1 double bed or 2 twin beds.” Upon arrival, they told me there were no twin‑bed rooms available, This problem never happened in other hotels I have booked in this trip. They promise to change another room for me the next day, so I took room 106 they had for me. That room has no bidet, all other rooms have. That room's shower head was broken and would not stay on the clip stand and would fall off once the water is running. I was upset and asked them to change another room. They gave me 116. That room has a bidet, but the ventilation fan not working. There are molds on the ceiling above the shower. the shower head is full of white scales. They have an old and a newer showerhead. Even the newer one is ugly. They didn't even bother replacing the old with the new but kept both. Phone not working. Next day, they move me to a room with twin beds, but the phone wire was not even connected. Toilet flushed continuously and would not stop. bed sheet has red marks on it. Furniture inside the room were very dusty. Their breakfast was very basic, not as good as my other 1 star hotel. Some pastries were not fresh. I know pictures of the common areas are spectacular and they are true. but inside the rooms is a different story. Most of the amentities are old and not functional. So the looks from the pictures are deceiving. Room condition was worse than a 1 star hotel. The experience was terrible and I will never book this hotel again.

30 minutes later we left

Shoved in a room on the 5th floor ( not a classic room like we had paid for) no working lift up to the 5th floor. Doors to room didn’t lock and being asked to leave keys for the hotel at the hotel? Cleaning staff seen laying on the bed charging phones in one room we were told to go look at.
We lasted 30 minutes and left.

Eliana was quite rude, gave us a room that the shower leaked into the bedroom. They then changed our room and then asked us for 60 EUROS when we were checking out.
The breakfast was very mediocre, basically same food everyday.
Very dissapointed in the service and will not be coming here again.

Massive disappointment. Mould in the bathroom and no basic facilities.

Where do I start.
Whilst the staff are very pleasant, it doesn't make up for the state of this place. It is so dated, the only solution is to gut the place and start again.
Firstly, the bathroom is so small and very mouldy. This is no way a 4 star hotel. Please see photos. The bathroom shower holder was broken. The cubicle is tiny. You can't use the shower attachment and you have to hold the shower head in order to shower. When you attach it. The shower head can only face horizontal and therefore making showering difficult. The shower tray has leaked all over the bathroom floor. Shampoo provided but no shower gel or conditioner. You do however get small bars of soap. So bring your own.
Aircon doesn't work nor does the phone.
The room is very small.
The bed rock hard.
No tea and coffee facilities.
Scratches all over the floor where the furniture has been dragged and the view, a brick wall. The fridge is barely cold.
A double bed and they provided only one extra pillow. Seriously!!!!
The positive reviews on here must've been for a different hotel.
This was meant to be a holiday treat for my brother in law's 70th birthday. I'm embarrassed.
The location is good, but that doesn't make it 4*.
And this is only day one. If I was staying more than a few days, I would ask for my money back. I've been in budget hotels better than this. It's shocking. Not happy AT ALL!!!!
This accommodation wasn't cheap.
And that's just my room. I have no idea what my brother in law's room is like. Further update to follow.
