An ideal place to visit the center of Ravenna
Mrs. Mariagrazia is very helpful and affable, clean environment with a beautiful garden, nice rooms, possibility of using bicycles for free, located in a quiet area, but close to the center (15 minutes by bike)... the only drawback is breakfast: only packaged products : biscuits, snacks, disposable jams, no fresh bread... a little poor compared to the average of bed and breakfasts in this category.

Worst bed and breakfast we went to. We have never had an experience like this and with hosts that are not very available
We were in two girls to HAVE to stay in this Bed and breakfast and the room we were provided did not match the one that was booked on the site, in questionable hygienic conditions, without a bidet, on a street and with a door that did not offer security. (We had booked a room inside the structure, not on a street, without even being able to access the inner courtyard). We pointed this out to the property owner, who checked us in, but was completely uninterested in solving the problem or finding a compromise.
Moreover, on arrival, he rightly asked us for identity documents immediately, telling us that he would return them to us immediately after, but this was not the case.
Later, after the no-show, due to an emergency (she could delegate someone else) after an hour, we contacted her and she told us that she would not return the documents until the time of check-out. The identity document, by law, is used to turn, so that you can always be recognizable, in any case. At that point we contacted the Carabinieri, who confirmed that the documents must be returned immediately, and there is no way that a structure keeps them for the duration of the stay, and returns them to you only at check-out (withholding another person's ID is a crime).
We have tried several times to get in touch with her, but always without an answer.
We had to wait until 1pm (we were there from 9:30am), after being quite insistent, to get our document back.
To which, tired of the unprofessionalism of the owner and the whole complex, and the lack of answers to our calls, we booked another hotel. So, in summary, we paid without even staying.
When the owner returned the document, she showed up with a sudden and irritated, little available.
There was not even a problem in changing the room or proposing a viable alternative.
In addition, it was written that the bed and breakfast had a private parking that however there was not, but in fact it was on the road, where otherwise you could not even stop, given the sign for no parking with forced removal.
In all of this he did not in the least refund us the fee we had paid and did not apologize for all the inconveniences.
We highly recommend not staying there.

Vorrei condividere alcune precisazioni con chi legge queste ultime recensioni, che per transparenza ed onestà, pur avendone tutti i diritti non ho chiesto di rimuovere….
gestisco questo B&B da sola, da tanti anni, con impegno e passione. Non è un hotel, ma una casa accogliente dove curo ogni aspetto personalmente. Chi soggiorna qui lo sa e lo apprezza.
La mattina in questione, eravamo in piena settimana di Ferragosto: già dalle 7:30 ero al lavoro, stanca ma presente, per preparare le colazioni degli altri ospiti. Quando sono stata contattata, ho risposto subito con gentilezza e ho accolto queste ospiti molto prima dell’orario previsto di check-in, senza alcuna richiesta anticipata. Ho preparato la prima stanza libera per venire loro incontro, più per gentilezza e il mio desiderio di entrare in empatia con le necessità delle persone che scelgono la mia casa , per il loro soggiorno a Ravenna….
Poco dopo, ho dovuto affrontare un’improvvisa emergenza familiare: mio figlio minore stava male e ho dovuto portarlo al pronto soccorso. Nonostante questo, ho continuato a rispondere alle chiamate, con la massima educazione possibile, pur in un momento molto delicato. Mi dispiace che la mia voce , semplicemente stanca , sia stata percepita in altro modo, ma non credo di dover giustificare la mia stanchezza, se questo non ha influito sulla mia disponibilità e professionalità, ero sicuramente anche molto preoccupata, per quel che stavo affrontando.
Per quanto riguarda i documenti, non c’è mai stata alcuna intenzione di trattenerli. Le ospiti sapevano esattamente dove mi trovavo e, vivendo io stessa nella struttura, era evidente che sarei tornata a casa nel più breve tempo possibile, sia per mio figlio che per poter proseguire con l’accoglienza degli altri ospiti, che infatti hanno soggiornato senza alcun problema.
Le osservazioni fatte su igiene, sicurezza e parcheggio non rispecchiano la realtà della struttura e sembrano essere, purtroppo, pretestuose. Anche Booking sta gestendo direttamente la situazione, e non ha consentito la pubblicazione di recensioni sulla loro piattaforma proprio perché i fatti non risultano fondati. Purtroppo però e’ possibile recensire liberamente su altri canali, che non sono a conoscenza della reale situazione.
Ci tengo a precisare, in prima persona, che non esiste un “noi”: faccio tutto da sola, con grande impegno, fatica e rispetto verso chi sceglie di soggiornare nella mia casa. Ogni tanto possono capitare degli imprevisti, ma questo non vuol dire mancare di serietà o professionalità e soprattutto rispetto, valore che sia nella vita personale che nel lavoro io non trascuro mai nei confronti di nessuno, ho già risposto a questa recensione su Google e negli scambi di messaggi privati, attraverso Booking. com, che appunto sta gestendo la situazione, poiché la prenotazione è stata fatta attraverso il portale .
Grazie a chi continuerà a scegliere il mio B&B con fiducia e grazie a chi in forma privata mi ha addirittura riportato il suo stupore e rassicurata con tanto affetto, perché conosce bene la mia casa e la mia persona.

Very negative experience with host
Our experience with the Abode of the Emme was completely negative.
When booking we had asked for a late entry (due to arrival of the train at 9 pm) since check-in times are very limited (12-14), without receiving an answer. On the day of arrival we were informed that there was no one available to welcome us at that time. In addition when we arrived they never answered the phone and so we were forced to find another accommodation for the night. Moreover, since we had paid for two nights, the next morning we also showed up in person to take advantage of the second night, but the owner of the B&B did not open us and told us from behind a gate that she did not want to talk to us and to confront Booking. In my opinion, a merchant is wrong to leave in the middle of the street of guests in a city where they have no foothold denying their telephone availability and more after having already received the full payment through Booking (320 €). Unfortunately, we were not able to receive even a partial refund.

Tuttavia, ritengo inaccettabile che vengano pubblicate recensioni basate su informazioni false o contenenti affermazioni offensive nei confronti della mia persona. In questo caso specifico, nonostante la prima versione della recensione sia stata rimossa da TripAdvisor perché ritenuta non conforme, la versione rettificata continua comunque a ledere la mia reputazione e a trasmettere un’immagine distorta della mia attività.
Tengo a precisare che la prenotazione in questione è avvenuta tramite un altro portale (Booking), dove non è stata consentita la pubblicazione della recensione perché priva di fondamento. È spiacevole constatare come, purtroppo, alcuni canali vengano talvolta usati in modo scorretto per colpire ingiustamente il lavoro e l’impegno altrui.
La libertà di parola è un valore fondamentale, ma non deve mai superare il limite del rispetto e della verità. È proprio questo confine che oggi, con grande dispiacere , vedo sempre più spesso venir meno.
Confido nel buon senso di chi legge e nella fiducia di tutti gli ospiti che, nel tempo, hanno potuto conoscermi personalmente e apprezzare il mio modo di lavorare.

Non tornerei...
Very different from how it looks in the picture, the rooms need maintenance and more cleaning, dust is everywhere and the windows were very dirty. The furnishings are positioned in a non-functional way reducing the passage spaces. Useless items of furniture that do not allow you to have space to store your things: books, used candles (4) fake flowers and plants, decorative objects everywhere. The internal parking is not functional, there is only one back car under a tree that broke our antenna due to low branches and limited room for maneuver. There is parking anyway in the area. Courtesy set is not provided, only on request and also room cleaning.

Unpleasant Host and No Privacy
I arrived at the property to be greeted by a teenage son, who told me I was at the wrong entrance. He then showed me my room, asked for my passport, and said he'll be back in 20-30 minutes. The room's condition was dated, there was a minuscule single soap bar, no shampoo, and no conditioner. The property was on the ground floor and had an all glass door. The door has a roll down shade that did not allow for adequate privacy as 1/3 of the room was still viewable from the outside. I complained to the host (who does not speak English) and she replied no one else ever had a problem. This is not an acceptable level of privacy. I had booked the room that same morning and simply requested to leave with a refund. The host then said that this was my fault and she cannot give back the money. The host was rude, unwelcoming, and relied on her son to communicate with guests. I felt completely unwelcome and that my presence was a nuisance to them from the second I arrived.
