A beautiful pause
A beautiful place to stay and great hospitality from Michele and Lucca. I stayed to break up the Via Francigena leg from San Miniato but it would be a great base for a stay in Tuscany. There's a beautiful pool, peace, space, the rooms are spotless and Michele will buy food for you if you pre-arrange. But aside from that, the leg from San Miniato to Gambassi Terme is long......and the stretch from Colle Bertini to the outskirts of Gambassi definitely one of the most beautiful. I highly recommend staying here and then doing it fresh the next day

Relaxing and very pleasant
If you feel like going to a corner of paradise, the Colle Bertini holiday home is for you. The apartments, in true Tuscan style, are spotless and very welcoming. The garden, well-kept, has set a beautiful swimming pool overlooking the beautiful surrounding hills. Michele and Luca are very friendly and attentive to every customer need.The only bad thing is to leave

5 stars – A peaceful Tuscan gem
Colle Bertini was everything we hoped for and more. The hospitality and care were exceptional - warm, thoughtful, and truly welcoming. The apartment was spotless, cozy, and felt like home from the start.
The setting is stunning: calm, quiet, and surrounded by vineyards and hills, with beautiful views in every direction. We loved the peaceful outdoor spaces, the pool, and the nearby walking trails. It’s also just about an hour from Florence and the coast - perfectly placed for exploring.
Communication was easy and kind throughout. We left feeling refreshed and already looking forward to coming back. A true hidden gem!

Tuscan treasure!
A beautiful converted traditional Tuscan Villa set in the heart of Tuscany, set amidst vineyards and the olive groves of this beautiful land. ALL of the staff, Michele, Luca and the ladies cannot do enough to make your stay comfortable and relaxed. The Villa is divided into 10 apartments of varying sizes, 1, 2 or 3 bedrooms, our apartment, Siena, 2 beds, 2 bathrooms, was perfect, traditionally furnished with everything you need to stay. We found that the Air Con was only really essential at the start of our 38* week and on low at night, the spacious rooms, high ceilings and shutters helped to keep the heat out! If you are happy with clean traditional furnishings, then you won't go wrong here. Wifi was great when you needed it - especially for Teens!
The pool area and surrounding grounds are lovely, with quite shade if you want it. The gazebo's too were perfect for alfresco shady dining, offering an opportunity to watch the lizards play and keep the bugs down! Although for part of our stay in mid August 2025 all apartments were occupied, you just would not know it - the pool area was respectfully quite at the right time, full of life with children and families on occasion, and perfect for an early or late quiet swim and at no time felt crowded or noisy.
The location was perfect too. We hired a car after flying in to Pisa, an easy 40 min drive. We explored the towns and villages around Colle Bertini, loving Montaione, its restaurants and gelateria's! Local supermarkets and other provisions all available within a 10-15 min drive, plus the Bread and Pastry ordering through Michele and Luca is ideal to ensure that you have fresh breakfast most mornings.
Having traveled far and I wide to some far flung corners of the globe, my family and I loved this place, the peace, tranquility and relaxed atmosphere was welcomed all round.

Pacific retreat in the hills
Highly recommended.
I would recommend a stay in Colle Bertini for the amenity of the place, access from the property to the Via Francigena for a pleasant walk among flowering fields and vines, the beautiful swimming pool with panoramic views of the hills, the attentive and discreet welcome of the managers, the happy country atmosphere.
The apartments are clean, comfortable and well equipped.
