great location, clean and quiet
There is no kitchen to use and there is only a tiny fridge if you want your own food. The wifi worked well and access was easy with regular keys. There is no television, fyi, in case you need one.
In summation, I recommend this property as a reasonable alternative to expensive hotels. It's in a nice, quiet location and is VERY comfortable. Manuela is SUPER helpful and VERY accomodating and she should have the Super Host status. It suits my needs just fine and I intend on coming back.

Nice place but location not so great
Caveats: shared bathroom (it's a small place so there is only one). To be fair, this is stated in the booking details. Also no credit cards, only cash.
But then: the location. With the best will in the world, it's not that great. Quite distant from the city center, up the hills in a rather barren residential area. There are NO restaurants within several hundred yards, as I can attest from trudging round looking for one in pouring rain the evening I arrived.
It's at least a 20 minute walk to the center along steep streets including a LARGE flight of stairs: not good for anyone with any mobility problems. There IS a bus which stops outside and runs to the center, but it becomes quite infrequent after 8PM, which given Italian dining times is less than ideal.
All in all: OK if you're fit & not looking for something really central.

The area is green residential and sea view, considered one of the most beautiful cities. Genova is all up and down, like Lisbona or San Francisco. In my district there are many bar and restaurant: the Pub Alle volte close to B&B in piazza Manin, restaurant Fuori Orario (open till 12 p.m.) in via Palestro, Vapensiero, Beautiful Loser in piazza Marsala, in via Assarotti there are pizzeria and restaurant Saint Cyr, Enoteca i Tre Merli in Corso Magenta, Pizzeria La Funicolare, la Vaccheria and more excellent bakeries like Michelangelo in piazza Manin and Magenta. In living room there are business cards of local.
So there are museum Castello d'Albertis - Museum of Cultures - Museo Chiassone Oriental Art, Farmacia erboristeria Sant'Anna and Spianata Castelletto: panorama view.
Bus 36 in front of the building in the night change a number 606...so there is the taxi, Uber, Bla bla, Funicolare Sant'Anna (piazza Portello to Corso Magenta) but the via Palestro is up, but is only 10 minutes. I suggest you the Book: "Genova che sale e scende" of Patrizia Traverso.
