Magnificent views - wonderful place to stay

What a find! - My family (5 adults) and I spent two weeks in the apartment in early August 2017. This wonderful place is tucked away above the town of Dubino. Each morning you are greeted with the most wonderful views of the mountains and valley as the sun rises. We were self-catering and in the evening there is a choice of wonderful locations to have an aperitif or eat your evening meal. Take advantage if the lower garden and soak up the beautiful views. There is also a full (professional) cooking facility to prepare meals and eat al-fresco. The apartment was perfect; clean, bright and very spacious. Piera (owner) will greet you with a smile that warms your heart and is always accommodating. Below the accommodation is a small shop that stocks many of the local produce including a range of superb ales from Dubino. Michele and Filippo keep the whole place looking beautiful while Rossana will make sure that every question is answered to make your stay perfect; there is no task that she will not fix. Michele’s local knowledge of where to swim, walk, hike and find the most impressive waterfalls was brilliant. We were fortunate to be invited to an evening meal with the family and we will always remember their kindness. A perfect base to visit Chiavenna the town and walks/waterfall at Acqua Fraggia, visit the Val Masimo, Crotto Dangri near Livo and to visit the northern towns of Como like Calico and Varenna. We will visit and soon - what a wonder place to stay. It was a pleasure to stay at Apartment (B&B) Monastero, our time ran out all too quickly. We will be back next year.

Glorious views and everything you could need

I only booked this a couple of hours before we arrived. We were met by a lady who gestured for us to just pull the car over to the side and leave it (on a single track road :)
It was dark and rainy and we wondered where on earth we'd ended up but were very tired so was thankful to the kind lady who stood in the rain with an umbrella.
We were a family of 6 and our expectations weren't very high but the room was great.
2 good size bedrooms and a living room with double sofa bed (already made up for us). The kitchen and bathroom were large and spotlessly clean. I thought I'd booked two of these rooms but the lady didn't speak any English and we don't speak Italian so we just thanked her and dropped into bed exhausted.
When we woke up in the morning, it was to the most glorious views - just simply breathtaking.
Unfortunately we left early in the morning but I'd definitely recommend this apartment for four people (or 6 if it's just one night) and I'd stay here again.
Such a hidden gem :)

Super friendly Family staff

Great breakfast, beautiful Location and very very friendly and flexible family run B&B. Huge bathroom. The room is basic but clean. It's a bit of a drive up the mountain from lake Como, but has a beautiful view and a little garden.
Breakfast is in a small joined room typically Italian with sweets and a coffee machine you can use yourself as you wish.

Wonderful Dubino

As reluctant as I am to let anyone else know about this beautiful part of the World I am moved to commend Monastero B&B and Dubino as being one of the friendliest and most pristine places left. The space provided is always clean and excellently presented. The food is plentiful and great quality. The "problem' is the view... you never want to leave your balcony! The serenity is sublime. The friendly residents amazing. Pure air... pure food and sheer joy awaits the jaded traveller. The price is amazing. But stay at least one week!

Struttura accogliente, pulita e curata. Consigliata!

Abbiamo alloggiato in questo b&b come tappa durante il nostro viaggio verso Bormio. Struttura piccola, ben curata nei dettagli, molto pulita e con buona colazione. Arroccata sulla cima del borgo, con vista molto bella.
Consigliato!
