An oasis
We stumbled onto this place and what a pleasant surprise. We were made to feel like royalty, mid week we were the only guests. They cater mainly for weddings and celebrations. 6 hectares of beautifully groomed grounds. A chef on site that cooked a 4 course dinner just for us. The maitre d was ever attentive and nothing was too much double. We were sought out often just so they could serve us. Canonot say enough good things about the hotel and it's staff. Particular thanks to Mina, Alfonso and Raffaele.
The suite they put us in had its own miniature pool/jacuzzi, stained glass doors and windows that open out onto the grounds. First class hotel with a great price tag.

Misrepresented
Such a shame, because this hotel has so much potential, perhaps just a little overwhelming for the owners currently, due to the property land being so vast, I imagine. We booked our stay via Booking.com, which detailed this hotel as 5* and listed the facilities etc. which, we believe were inaccurate.
If anyone has seen the Shining, it was a little like this, except more dusty, more fake flowers and more ants. It was like the hotel had been untouched for several years, but with everything laid out ready for a wedding.
There are so many items to list that were below par, it would be unfair to list them here - we have complained directly and, to be fair, the manager adequately dealt with our dissatisfaction.

A wedding venue.
This hotel is definitely more of a wedding venue than it is a hotel. The views from the balcony of the rooms are incredible you can see all along the coast line and upto Vesuvius. However, we weren't told on booking this 5* that the kitchen was closed as they were prepping for a wedding in 3 days time. They also didn't advise that all the restaurants in the local town where shut and that we should have booked. The train station has moved from what is on google maps, you pretty much exit the front of the villa and go straight down the hill to get to the new station. Some
Information we worked out that would have been nice was that to get to Pompeii from the local station boscotrecase it's the train to Naples, changing after 1 stop and then the train to Sorrento to get to Pompeii and takes about 40-60 minutes due to the train times. On the way back it's the reverse train to Napoli and then towards poggiomarino. - hope that helps. The staff were friendly and did try to help I just don't think we possibly asked exactly the right questions to the right people.

A delightful honeymoon escape
We visited this hotel last week and had a lovely experience, which felt almost exclusive. The resort clearly specialises in large events (there was a wedding the first night of our stay), but we saw very few other guests during our stay. Our room was beautiful and very spacious, with a jacuzzi inside and a large shared terrace accessible via two doors either end of the suite. The views were incredible - Vesuvius looming over us to the right and the breathtaking Naples bay to the left. The owners are lovely, helpful people and nothing was too much trouble. They greeted us with a chilled bottle of vino bianco (much needed after a slightly traumatic train/taxi journey there - this hotel is a short walk from the train station, so don't fall into the trap we did of a misleading taxi driver who took us a very convoluted route and charged €20 for the privilege!). They also made us a lovely Parma ham lunch snack without adding anything to our bill when they could see we were in need of something after our journey.
We would have loved to have given this place a five star review, but if we're completely honest a couple of things held this back. Whilst the hotel was beautiful and the owners really friendly, the hotel lacked a handful of facilities we would normally expect for a five star resort, for example a pool (this wasn't in the list admittedly) and a bar. One aspect that made our stay here very special and unusual was their approach to breakfast, which was brought on a stunning silver tray to our room every morning. This was a charming service and a great idea, however the breakfast itself was not quite to our taste. Each morning of our stay we received two very sugared espressos, chocolate / custard croissants and a selection of very sugary puddings (chocolate mousse, iced sponge etc). These were utterly delicious and very decadent, but we really would have liked the option to have something less sugar intensive, such as eggs or fruit etc. We felt a little unwell by day three of this!! We admittedly could / should have mentioned this to the staff, but they were clearly trying so hard to make this stay special, and we were the only people in the hotel for two nights, so we felt a little awkward and fussy by complaining.
Overall we really would recommend this place to any couple looking for a private retreat (but still close and even within walking distance of some of the local sights). We wish the owners all the best and hope to return for a wedding anniversary at some point!

Atmosfera tranquilla e romantica
Grazie al sito booking ho scoperto questa struttura ed incuriosito dalle belle foto proposte, ho prenotato la stanza deluxe per una notte.
Arrivati sul posto non si puo non notare la bellezza del giardino e la tranquillità che il tutto trasmette.
Anche il presonale addetto é molto serio e accogliente, soprattutto la proprietaria si é mostrata molto disponibile a richieste.
Le stanze sono come nelle foto, romatiche e calde.
Unica nota negativa è la pizzeria convenzionata Moretti, che ci è stata consigliata alla reception. Zero serietà, pizza ordinata da consegnare in stanza ma mai arrivata dopo ore inutili di attesa e solleciti. Spazientiti abbiamo optato per un altra pizzeria.
Consigliamo di prestare piu attenzione alla scelta delle strutture convenzionate.
Nonostante questo episodio, é stata una bella esperienza a Villa Rota. Ritorneremo appena possibile.
