Clean well provisioned self catering apartment.

The local host was very helpful getting me settled in. The kitchen has all you need to prepare a meal for 2-4 people. The BBQ on the porch came in handy too. I stayed 10 days and enjoyed the quiet of the country. The bed was comfortable. Ample parking for my rental car. I would stay here again on a return visit.

Accommodation with insects galore.

Booked for seven nights.
The place was quiet and tidy, but dated.
Only one air conditioner in entire unit of two bedrooms. Not all windows had fly screens. Had several cockroaches and Huntsman spiders in the unit.
At night several Mosquitos bit me and one cockroach ran over my face. By night three we'd had enough and left. Advised owner and requested the balance to be refunded. Too bad for us, their policy is no refund. We moved to an understanding, clean place in town.
We didn't expect luxury but the place obviously was not fumigated. There is a fumigation business on the island, so no excuse.
Could not recommend this place and would never go back.

A place to enjoy a quiet Island experience

Norfolk Island offers an unpretentious and laid-back vacation. Anson Lodge complements the feel of the whole island. Along a pot holed road, it is a tranquil idyll out of the main commercial precinct. The Birdwatchers studio is a no frills functional self contained cabin which is comfortable enough. The caretaker Jayleigh was welcoming and helpful. If you seek luxury and extensive facilities maybe look elsewhere. If you want simple and peaceful and a base to explore the natural beauty and historical significance of Norfolk this might just be the place.

We had a wonderful time at Anson Bay Lodge, loved the private location and the owner did far more than what was expected

Really enjoyed the place, very easy to get comfortable quickly with awesome kitchen supplies and close access to the beach. Wayne and Rosalie took care of us from day one and we felt extremely welcomed into the community.

When you want to get away from the main street this is a great location

While this accomodation was at the budget end it was selected for its beautiful secluded location and didn't disappoint......its close to Anson Bay and the beach, the Captain Cook memorial and is quiet and set within a beautiful garden setting
