I will be back. Going to Dromoland is like living in a bubble on the lush grounds, with lakes for boating/fishing, a challenging golf course with scenic views, old timey activities (clay pigeon shooting, archery, falconry, afternoon tea) and staff that aims to please. We had two children that received welcome gifts and personalized itineraries upon check-in. The food was top notch (I'm not a big eater but cleaned my plate each time). The rooms were spacious and the grounds were so well kept. It felt like traveling back to a simpler time away from the hassels of today. Anytime a staff person would pass in the halls, they'd politely say hello and ask if they could help in any way. One staffer was leaving for the day but walked us through the garden to the Fig Tree (less formal restaurant near the golf clubhouse) and took family pictures of us on the way. A truly magical place that my family won't forget.

Bathroom had a cleaning cloth in the sink. Lights in closets malfunctioned all night turning off and on. Staff was very friendly.

Felt like royalty in every way
There is nothing not perfect about this storybook property. The magnificent facilities, the outstanding staff and their attention to detail in every way, the epic guest room in the tower of the Castle, to the picturesque setting, have made this one of our most magical travel experiences ever. From the second we arrived all the way through checkout, we were made to feel special in every way. No matter where we went throughout the extensive property, we were addressed by name from every staff member. In being in the hotel industry for over forty years myself, I have never encountered such focus on detail. It really is amazing. The only flaw was that we couldn't stay longer. I highly recommend this property-or actually it is an estate. When visiting-- make sure you make full use of all the resort has to offer- Falconry/Golf/ Archery/Bike Riding/strolling the walking trails and the great F&B outlets. We cannot wait to return.

Very touristy
I expected a luxury castle experience, but the hotel felt more like a busy tourist destination, with golfers, wedding parties, and visitors coming and going.
There were some highlights. Aside from check-in, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The falconry experience was delightful and the cocktail bar was lovely.
The setting is beautiful, but the room and check in experience didn’t live up to expectations. If you don’t mind a touristy atmosphere, you may still enjoy the activities and setting.
Check-in was very disappointing. I was told our room would be ready at 3 p.m., but when it wasn’t, I was told that time was only an estimate. The room itself didn’t feel grand and overlooked construction, which was especially disappointing given the five-star expectations and price.
There were some highlights. Aside from check-in, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The falconry experience was delightful and the cocktail bar was lovely.

The Perfect Spot
Dromoland Castle is a superior place to stay. The room was clean, bed comfortable, amenities were amazing and the tub is phenomenal. The food is delicious and the staff are all so great! They remembered our preferences and allergies from breakfast to dinner and they always ensured you were happy with your meal. The grounds are beautiful, highly recommend the free bikes to tour the grounds. The history of the grounds are everywhere and we loved reading about the different aspects of it. The Dromoland tea blend is SO good. Highly recommend, you will not be disappointed!
