Wedding

Great place in a small Irish village - rolling distance from Drurys Pub! 6 ensuit bedrooms - believe two had double beds, with four having two singles in each. All bedrooms were taken up by my family and me - so it was turned into a temporary family home, which had all we could ask for. Ample room, al required to prepare a family sized measles, WIFI, and, plenty entertainment. Would not hesitate to stay again!

Large house

The lodge is set at a 5 road junction in the sleepy village of Monasteraden. The 6 bedrooms are on the ground floor all with shower, upstairs is split between a games room with airhockey(broken) table tennis, bar football and loads of games and books. The rest of the floor is a large 12/14 seat dinning room. A small kitchen is also on this floor. The 2nd floor is a den like room with seating for around 12 including sofa bed for children, there's a wii and tv with netflix.
The owner Ivan shows you around on arrival. You can make use of a gas bbq and fishing rods.
The lodge is out of the way of most attractions but these can be reached within 30/40 minutes by car. We made use of the BBQ and kitchen cooking for up to 14 but also made use of the Chinese take away in Ballaghderren 4 miles away.
The house is clean but not spotless.

Lots of space and all mod cons

Hi stayed here in June for a week with a group of friends. Ivan showed us around including the much used tumble dryer!. The place is well equipped and we cooked and eat there every night.
There was information on the local area and good books about the locality. It was great to be able to go for a stroll in the evening as the roads where quiet.

super place

I was there in Aug-2014 with my family and friends. I had great time here . nice place to stay.
Rooms are good and well maintain kitchen and play area. Services was too good. We found it very accessible from Loughkey forest park and other places to visit.

Love this place - use it all the time!

Been using Lough Gara Lodge as a stop over place for a few years now as we have family in the area. Ivan cooks a mean breakfast and his speciality, in my opinion, is his potato cakes :-D The beds are really comfy and the whole place is spotless. The showers in each room are powerful and hot. Ivan and Veronica are family friends now because we've been back so often and they are always so warm and welcoming. I cannot fault his place.
Locally, the pub is next door, the church is just up the road, the lough is pretty much in front of the building, the nearest town (Ballaghadreen) is a 10 minute car journey and there's a load of stuff to see and do around the area.
