A Beautiful Quiet B&B Just Outside Donegal Town

After our 3-week road trip though the West and North of Ireland, I wanted to save our last review for one of our best B&B experiences. Eas Dun Lodge is a beautiful accommodation in a gorgeous, serene woodland setting in the country, abutting Lough Eske, and a 10-minute car ride into Donegal Town. Pat met us warmly at the door and took his time showing us up to our lovely, immaculate room with modern furniture and fixtures (including the only refrigerator we saw on our trip!). Keep in mind, at the time we showed up, unbeknownst to us, Donegal's GAA team was on TV shellacking (an American term) Kerry 13-0 in the second half of The Big Game Of The Season -- In Kerry! --but Pat never once let on that he very much wanted to rejoin the game... instead, we had to urge him to get back to it, such was the true hospitality of our host! Our bed was truly delightful and the quiet mountain setting with fresh air gave us two of the best nights' sleep on our trip. Breakfast was served in a homey fashion and was delicious and plentiful, with eggs to order and pancakes, with freshly baked breads and croissants and juices. We learned that it's a matter of adding a bit of Irish butter for that special creamy-egg taste. We learned a lot about the local tweed trade from Pat, who had worked for Magee, probably the most famous name in Donegal tweed. We really enjoyed petting their two very friendly yellow labs in the yard. If you have a car and Google Maps, please find this true hidden jewel of a B&B in Donegal Town. You will love it. We will be back!

Fully recommended

We really enjoyed our stay at Eas Dunn Lodge. Patsy & Ann were the perfect hosts. Our room was lovely, with a lovely view & comfortable bed. The breakfast was just perfect. About 20 minutes from Donegal city. Biddys O'Barnes is an excellent option for dinner. Fully recommended. We would definitely return

Perfect Peaceful Rest

Irish hospitality at its finest. Patsy and Ann are two of the nicest people you will ever meet. The rooms were spotless, breakfast delicious and the surrounding area has so much to offer for history lovers, walkers / hikers or bikers PERFECT

Beautiful B&B well worth the 4-star rating and hosts are wonderful.

We were 3 couples travelling from Canada and the accommodations could not be better. Our rooms were very nicely appointed and the common dining/living area was great. Our hosts Ann & Patsy were wonderful. The views from this B&B are beautiful. The area offers lots of hiking options and the B&B is a great base to tour Donegal and surrounding area. Definitely recommend staying here if you're in the Donegal area.

We loved this B&B

We enjoyed our visit at this B&B. Patrick and Ann are wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast. The 4 types of cheese they serve were so good, along with the rest of our breakfast and they make wonderful coffee. The bed is comfortable. The location is beautiful.
