Nice and welcoming

Lovely little B&B only a short spin to the town, a taxi would cost €7. Bed was comfortable and the ensuite shower room is clean, the shower has a good power level. Kettle and tea provided in the room, full Irish breakfast as standard. Will return.

Don't book here unless you want to be cancelled at short notice

My partner and I booked a room here several weeks ago for Friday 8 December 2017.
Last night 6 December I received an email from Fiona saying she was overbooked and we couldn't stay there - maybe B and B Ireland might have something?!
All our flights are booked and time taken off work but currently nowhere to stay. Not a first great impression of Dundalk!

A very disappointing experience

The room was booked on the telephone requesting a room for two people with two beds. On arrival we were told it was a family room for 140 euros. There had obviously been a misunderstanding but it was too late to move anywhere else. We had to accept the room at full price. Next we were informed it was cash only and no cards were accepted. The owner was only too ready to take us to a cash machine!! The next problem was there was no en suite facilities and we had to walk,along the corridor to the bathroom.The room was clean but had no mirror to help with hair or makeup. The bathroom was very large but did not even have a hook to hang anything on ..not even the towel. On top of all this there was NO HOT WATER in the morning. Even the electric shower was cold. UNBELIEVABLE. After mentioning this the owner did not show much concern and informed us that if we waited 20 minutes the water would be hot!!! We could not do this as we had to return a hire car and catch a flight. The room was for 5 people but naturally only 2 breakfasts had to be served!! Not once did the owners offer any discount for all the hassle we had and of course we had to pay in advance. My cousin and I would never return to this place and also never recommend it in the circumstances.

Very unprofessional, they booked us into a family room as we had requested two beds and charged us for 5 people, unfortunately as it was 7 30 on a Saturday night we were unable to look elsewhere and they profited from this. Then they took us to the bank as we hadn't been told it was cash, no receipt given!!!
No mirror in bedroom, no hooks in bath room for towels and no HOT WATER on telling the owner we were told if we could wait 20 minutes they would heat the water for us (we had a flight to catch)

Unhappy

Dont try booking here if travelling late in the evening. As a lone female who faced a long drive home in a very tired state i booked into this place. I felt vulnerable and wanted somewhere safe to put my head before my long trip home. So with my booking complete i made my way to the b&b only to find on route that my booking had been cancelled by the proprietor. A booking is a booking, why allow make one if it's going to be cancelled. My night was ruined and i had to pay 160euro in a local hotel. My faith in this b&b is unreliable.
