Ok Hotel. Does The Job. Outside Outdated But Rooms Are Nice Inside

I recently visited Castlebar and had this hotel booked. When you enter the hotel it looks outdated from the outside. Would need freshening up. At reception they didn't get me to fill out any registration forms which I thought was unusual as most hotels require this and take payment at front desk. I'm assuming all details go through the website Booking.Com now for payment now. The Rooms Are Basic But Still Good and Look Like They Have Been Renovated. Noise can be a bit of an issue so bring earplugs. Breakfast they don't ask you for your room number when you do to the dining room so I had to tell them I will pay for breakfast after as I was on a Room Only Rate. If I hadn't told them they probably wouldn't have charged me. Breakfast menu is a bit pricy too. All though a good hotel. I may come back again later in the year. The middled aged woman on reception on Sunday morning was nice to guests when checking out and the Mayo man on night security was also nice too. They are still happy over Mayo's win in the football.

Absolutely great atmosphere out if this world

Absolutely brilliant went there with my wife and I and our 6 year old old grandson
The atmosphere is the best we ever had I a hotel staff from start to finish were brilliant
The food in bar was absolutely great breakfast and staff in both were very accommodating
We went on 17th to 20th three nights and had our dog with us and dog friendly hotel

A wonderful homely hotel

This hotel was a great find in unusual circumstances for me. The staff at reception, the bar and in general were warm, kind and exceptionally professional and caring. The breakfast was outstanding, rooms were very clean and practical. Nothing was too much trouble. I have to come back in a couple if weeks and will 100% stay here and recommend. The guiness was very reasonable at €5.60. Thank you x
