Highly recommend

Excellent and memorable stay. Would highly recommend.
Tranquil location and so much to do nearby.
Very welcoming and always went above and beyond with any queries we had. Would definitely return.

The Clonandra Green Cottage is dirty & dangerous. The cottage is badly run down and very poorly maintained. There are several electrical dangers from live terminal blocks uncovered to a blown out socket in the kitchen. The bathroom is disgusting.

Sad to say

No toilet roll and when asked about it i was told its not a 5 star hotel, although toilet roll is listed as available we got 2 rolls for 3 days, apparently bin changes are also not part of their privacy policy, no hot water at all.. FOR 3 days this was too much. Very far from anything of note. Belturbet has little in it. Nice lake but also expect if they have a hens or stags weekend there the hot tub shed will be full of drunken lay abouts and for couples or kids it wont be fun. The owners seemed focused on larger groups we never checked in just opened the door and never saw them again.

Amazing lakeside experience

We booked a family holiday within Ireland due to Covid restrictions. This year we took a chance on Cavan with no expectations. What a wonderful surprise Clonandra Cottages was. We stayed in the 10 person house. It's situated by a beautiful lake. The house was spotlessly clean, has a wonderful back decking with a BBQ area. We had the added bonus of a free rowing boat that we took out onto the lake. It's situated close to Sanderson Castle which is worth the trip. If we were to vacation within in Ireland again, I would be back in a heartbeat.

Peace and quiet

This little gem of a find is perfect for those of us wanting to escape for a few days in the middle of nowhere for some rest and we could take our dog. We spent 4 nights here and were blessed with glorious weather. Our self catering accommodation was a lovely spacious 2 bedroom cottage overlooking the lake. There are several other cottages located on the site and they did not feel at all as though they were invading our space or privacy. The cottage had everything we needed. I noted on another trip advisor review that flies were an issue - yes they were but the cottage is on a lake so this was expected and cans of fly spray were provided. The beds were single beds together and very comfortable and we all had great nights sleep. Towels were also provided. John Jaques is a lovely gentleman who lives on site and helped us out when our cooker decided to play up and a pleasure to converse with. There are some nice takeaways located Belturbet should you decide not to cook - we highly recommend the Genesis Chinese takeaway ) next to Marcos pizza which the kids really enjoyed). A rowing boat is available with life jackets. A hottub and sauna is also available at an additional cost. One piece of advice is to bring bottles of water as the water was not a great colour so we ended up boiling bottled water for tea/coffee/drinking. Overall, I’m looking forward to returning and have recommended Clonandra Cottages to friends and family.
