Friendly

That is my personal opinion. I think that is a best place to stay on a shore. I ve been there three times and those were the things I liked. Friendly people, clean rooms, clean yard, the ocean is cross the road, food is prepared concerning the european taste (my personal point of view), prices are not high, slightly suburb rural views.
Get there and back using public bus or order a motorbike with driver
The sea is not perfect there BUT it is fascinating and I liked that place a lot. So did my friend.
The massage offered at the beach is far from professional but is relaxing - those are locals, think about them and let them earn some money for their families.

Good Budget

We love staying at Rakata Hotel because it's cheap with great beach across the street.
Our IDR250K room might have a smoke odor but not that bad. Bed was nice, Bathroom was clean, so-so Breakfast.
We'll go back again in the future.

We had a look around and left

The people here are very friendly and helpfull. However, the rooms are old, they smell of mold, the toilet had seen better days and there was only what I call the Indonesian toilet experience, being a bucket with water and no toilet paper.
The ocean is very close, which is nice, but the hotel is seperated from it by a very busy road. The rooms in the back where more quiet but a lot smaller, the rooms in front a lot bigger but immidiatly next to the road.
We passed on this hotel and drove elsewhere. The food is apparently very good. And it is not expensive

Old fashioned but OK

We stayed at this hotel as part of a tour to Anak Krakatau. It's a classic old style hotel with a lumpy bed, thin curtains and a bright outside light with no switch but the AC was quiet and worked well. Carita is a shadow of its former self and seems to have the noisiest motorbikes in Indonesia. The food in the hotel restaurant was good.

Rakata hotel

Отель не соответствует заявленному названию, ночлежка с маленькими грязными прокуренными номерами. В сан узлах нет душа и раковин, умыться, зубы почистить негде. Грязно, кондиционеры работают плохо. На кухне грязь и мухи в огромном количестве. Шум и выхлопы с дороги.
