Stunning views

Booked from reading reviews and it didn't disappoint.
A little misunderstanding on arrival but dealt with well and they kindly upgraded my friend.
Mountain View rooms are really quite stunning. We were all in awe. You have to book one as the view is nothing shy of breathtaking.
Beds are firm/comfortable. Rooms very well appointed. Bathroom could benefit from improved cleaning of wall tiles but well finished.
The food, as others have said is very good and well priced for Shimla.
All staff we met were excellent.
They state 100m to The Mall....which is true. But beware it's the end of the Mall so 1/4 mile to shops/cafes etc uphill. And the initial walk from the hotel is steep. Seriously, not for anyone with heart, lung or walking issues. We're fit and we're panting! but a great walk all the same. It's part of being in Shimla....there are very few flat areas!
Overall we all enjoyed Shimla and the Victory Hotel.

No heater, no carpet or slippers for cold floors, no proper toiletries just soap, blanket with women's hair, uncleaned kettle, no wifi password given, other than being on prime location this is one of the worst hotel i have ever stayed as per the amount paid.
The manager making excuses of no electricity during 2PM everyday on checkin time and asking guests to cancel so that they can rent rooms on higher price to other guests during peak crowd. This hotel should be 1 star nothing more.

It was very conveient to be able to walk to the hotel from the train station on arrival. The staff were exceptionally friendly and service oriented. I was pleased with the size and cleaniless of the room. Glad there was extra blankets as Shimla does get cold. Mornings i enjoyed having the breakfast options, paratha and chai and scrambled eggs got me going for the day!
