Excellent restaurant and staff.

I didn’t stay at The Riverside, but I did visit their restaurant a couple of times for drinks and to watch the sunset. Unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to try their food, which looked amazing, but I can confirm that their cocktails were excellent!
It’s a great spot to watch the sunset, staff are great, and there’s plenty of seating.
Highly recommended.

Thank you Riverside - we'll be back

A wonderful break in the sun. This place envelopes you like a balm. Quiet in the morning rising to an action packed beach for sunset. Safe beach interlaced with meandering rivers - interesting. Surf school in the mornings, kite surfing after lunch. Friendly beach sellers all day. We found the staff to be amazing especially Anki who looked after us perfectly - nothing was too much trouble and he advised so well on my choices and gluten free needs. Bedroom spacious with a good size bathroom. Water supply a bit quirky at times but nothing to get upset about. Sun beds with waiter service all day. Could have done with some smaller snacks on the menu for during the day. The range of food is substantial - good choice for breakfast and supper. Some salads a bit dubious. Local taxi service affordable, efficient and friendly and quirky little shopping area within 5 minutes wander. Can't offer any criticism - we had one of the best holidays ever. Thank you Riverside.

Fresh food, clean comfortable rooms, sunbeds with an amazing sunset view

Fresh and tasty food, lovely staff and clean rooms. Amazing sunset view, sunbeds, yoga places nearby.
A beautiful place to come back for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Clean and comfortable rooms. Sunbeds to relax.

Best Budget option on Mandrem beach

I was torn between a rating of 3 and 4 here, 3.5 would be my preference. The positives are numerous- excellent location on Mandrem beach but 5 mins from Main Street supermarkets; the most reasonable pricing of beachfront options; good standard and size of rooms- ours was fan only but cool enough though we kept the balcony doors open at night; bed was comfy; restaurant is excellent- largest menu and best prices on the beach, service is generally efficient though some waiters are better than others; rooms cleaned daily on request; the manager Joel is a nice guy and speaks good English. Why no 5 star review then?
A minor point is the decor in the bathroom- painted a weird dark grey so feels a bit cavelike. My main issue though was noise. There are a lot of beach dogs around the property, encouraged by guests who even have them in the rooms. I have no problem with dogs and most are friendly but they sleep outside the rooms and on 3 of the 4 nights we stayed we were disturbed by loud and continued barking in the early hours. Then in the morning, there is a gym session starting about 8am accompanied by quite loud dance music. Also, the layout of the rooms- facing each other along an open air alleyway means that noise echoes- if neighbours talk loud or play music you will hear them. As I mentioned we slept with the doors open and the noise may not have been an issue with them closed. If this is a concern it may be worth paying extra for an ac room. I have no problem with the quality for the price and would say it’s the best budget option overall if you want to stay next to the beach.

Got recommendation to this place from a friend. Contacted the confirmed number. After giving the dates for booking person never replied again. And this was in the end of October. So no busy season. Really bad experience about their customer service!
