Perfect stay at Vivanta Katra
We had a fantastic stay at Vivanta Katra, Vaishno Devi, and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Katra.
The rooms were exceptionally clean, spacious, and beautifully designed with a modern touch. The shower was excellent, with plenty of hot water and powerful water pressure – perfect after a long day.
The hotel grounds were picturesque, peaceful, and immaculately maintained, providing a wonderful place to relax and unwind.
Every member of staff we encountered was professional, courteous, and genuinely welcoming, making our stay even more enjoyable.
The restaurant was outstanding, serving beautifully presented and incredibly tasty food throughout our stay. A special mention goes to Ashok Choudhary, the Restaurant Supervisor, who ensured that every one of our needs was catered for. His professionalism, attentiveness, and warm hospitality were exceptional, and he truly represents the high standards of the hotel.
Compliments also to the chef, whose food was simply outstanding. The Paneer Tikka Biryani was the highlight of our dining experience—without doubt one of the best we’ve ever had!
Overall, Vivanta Katra exceeded our expectations in every way. From the comfortable rooms and beautiful surroundings to the exceptional service and outstanding cuisine, everything was first class. We will definitely return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Vaishno Devi.

Very Good Property
Very clean, huge , well maintained, hygienic property..
We liked everything about the property Especially the staff...the restaurant chef Ashok ,the drivers ..the reception staff....everyone is cordial...welcoming....and very very helpful....we would defined come back and refer others...

Taj Vivanta - Katra experience
Vivanta Katra is a comfortable property with good facilities and courteous staff. Special thanks to Ashok from the kitchen for his helpful local recommendations and Arun at the reception for his excellent assistance. However, the hotel toiletries, especially the body wash, need a significant quality improvement. Also, since the hotel is 10–15 minutes from the main Katra market, it would be a great addition if the hotel offered a complimentary shuttle service or regular transport for guests.

Feedback regarding my recent stay (4th visit)
I recently stayed at your hotel for the fourth time with my family, and we’ve always enjoyed the consistency you provide. I’d like to thank Mr. Suresh and the front desk for their help, and the restaurant staff for kindly accommodating our no-onion/no-garlic needs—the dal khichdi was fantastic.
However, I’m sharing some critical feedback to help improve the experience for future guests:
1) A senior restaurant male staff member picked up my daughter without our consent. Regardless of intent, this is completely inappropriate; please ensure staff are trained to respect personal space with children.
2) The pool needs better cleaning, and frequnt scaling and water replacement not just chlorination.
3) Your remote location makes local travel expensive, especially since the shuttle service is limited only to Darshan. It would be great if you could offer broader, more affordable transport options.
4) Having stayed at the Marriott in Katra, we missed the convenience of in-room bathtubs and customized fresh juices, which are currently limited to expensive suites here.
5) We missed to see that the evening prayers for Mata Vaishno Devi have been stopped entirely. In 2023 we had previously suggested ways to make them more eventful and really hope you will consider bringing them back.
