Good place to stay in Leh

Had a wonderful experience with lots of adventure during the road trip from Delhi to Leh-Ladakh.
All restlessness was gone when reached at *Hotel Jorchung*, one of the best locations, with affordable, clean & hygienic rooms with yummy food and hospitality.
Moreover, the tour was completed under the competent guidance & planning by "Bhaskar Bhai",

Would not suggest a stay at this place.

Good:
1. Location.
2. Rooms are clean and hygienic.
3. Staff are friendly.
What is not good:
1. We rented 2 Himalayan Motor Bikes for 2 days and we returned the bike at 08:30 and we were told to pay 500 per bike as the return time was 06:30pm. Nowhere in the policy or bond was the time mentioned as 06:30pm. We have the bike for the full day which means we can also return it by 8pm or 9pm. Either we should have been informed prior that return timing was 06:30pm which was not done. And we were charged extra. As tourists, we would not know what the local laws are, we should have been informed prior about the return policy time of 06:30pm and we were accused by the owner/manager of this hotel that it was our issue that we did not ask them specifically. It was not mentioned in the bond and we had literally no clue that return timing was 06:30pm.

WE stayed here 3 nights on our MotoSaga motorcycle trip in the Himalayas

The Hotel people were very friendly and helpful, the meals were great and the only complaint was that some of our group could not get hot water in their morning showers. The location is perfect to visit the Leh fort and the old market area (both well worth a visit) - Wifi connection was a bit intermittent - but it seems that is normal up here

An average place for stay

The rooms were clean and so was the bathroom. Got good hot water. But overall service can get better. There is not many option of food provided though we want to place order. Staff are good too. We tried ordering for food and were asked to order or go out and eat. so basically service to be improved.

Hotel away from the bustle

This hotel is a good 10 minutes walk from the main hustle and bustle of the Leh high street and town centre. It is set in quiet part of town and has views across the town and up towards the monastery and stupa.
There is parking available in the grounds of the compound and the exterior of the building is clean and reasonably well maintained. The hotel owner/manager is charming and helpful. other staff are very happy to help but may not always be in a hurry.
Our room was on the first floor and looked out over an open area of land used for cultivation, with a nice view of the far mountains in the distance. The room was very basic but nice and cool, however, the bed was very hard. The mattress appeared to be stuffed with jute making it exceptionally hard and rather itchy. Even sleeping on top of the quilt, double over, did not ease the discomfort of the mattress, although it was not so itchy!
The bathroom facilities were adequate and clean with plenty of water ( not necessarily hot but prefectly adequate.)
I can recommend the cheese omelettes served for breakfast - light, fluffy and delicious.
