Amazing backwater boat trip!

Amazing houseboat day trip along Vembanad Lake. The owners kindly dropped us off to the houseboat and it was a great sunset trip! We had the most beautiful authentic lunch, welcome drinks and the boat driver was great. Amazing experience on the backwaters and would definitely recommend.

Felt Less Like a Homestay, More Like Coming Home

Mango Kerala Homes is an absolute gem tucked away in the heart of Kumarakom's backwaters — a place that is as serene as it is soul-soothing. From the moment you arrive, the property wraps you in warmth, with a beautiful swing overlooking the glistening water that becomes your favourite spot to simply sit, breathe, and let the world slow down. The setting is postcard-perfect, and the comfort of the space makes you feel like you've found a second home rather than a holiday stay.
What truly sets this place apart is the incredible heart that the host Divya brings to every single moment of your stay. She goes so far beyond what any listing could promise — when my partner needed a hair straightener, Divya offered her own without a second thought; when I fell ill, she arrived with medicines and genuine care that no five-star hotel could ever replicate. The food is as authentically Kerala as it gets — every meal a love letter to the flavours of this land. She even arranged a backwater boat ride for us to explore Kumarakom's magical canals, turning our trip into something truly unforgettable. If you're looking for a stay that feeds both the stomach and the soul, look no further. We will absolutely be back.

Great birdwatching and a tranquil experience in the backwaters

We went on a 3 hour sunset boat ride through the backwaters and out onto the lake with Dileep. It was lovely and tranquil, and he identified many, many birds for us. He was also very responsive, both by email and Whats App. A very nice way to see the local area.

Fabulous, welcoming family homestay

This homestay is fabulous. It’s run by Divya & Philippe & they are so welcoming. The rooms are spacious & comfortable with lovely views. The home cooked dinner option was delicious & wonderful to share the meals with other guests on a communal table.

I can highly recommend this homestay in Kumarakom

Nice and clean homestay. The family that run this place is amazing. So kind and helpful. The food is exceptionally good. The sunrise trip with bird watching in the family’s boat is a must do.
