Good hotel but needs to be upgraded on urgent basis.The staff & the entire team is very Co-operative.Their service is prompt and is always done with a smile on the face.
They serve yummy food like aloo paratha and some yummy dal-rice.

Comfortable Accommodation in Katra
The booking was done by a member in our group. Couple of days before leaving for Katra I had checked reviews of Hotel Asia on the net. Not just one or two but there were many reviews. Mixed - while some said good things there were many that were totally negative of the hotel. I was confused as what to expect.
So will share my perception of good and not so good.
Seeing the picture I thought it would be a high rise ( 4-5 floors) structure. It is about ground and couple of floors but wide spread. Nice - rooms are not close to each other as in tall structure - So disturbance from rooms next door nor one is worried about disturbing your neighbour.
Rooms - fairly big size, simple decor , neat & clean. we had booked 8 rooms and nobody had complaints on this topic. Aircondition was there but the old box window style - not split. Anyways the weather was pleasant & I did not switch on the AC, just fan. My room looked out into a green lawn patch. I could see the swimming pool too which was full.
There was a small cupboard for clothes a hot water kettle with couple of dip dip tea sachets, Bailey water bottle.
Bathroom spacious - hot water. Small soap bar, shampoo sachet and moisturising lotion bottle. the layout was reverse . Bathing area in front and WC right inside so the bathroom remains wet fully. Unusual feature - there was a big grey spider. Anyways told him that as long as he stayed in the bathroom - not come into the bedroom - I was ok. Turned out to be co-operative.
Was hungry at 7 pm - went dining room. But they were still laying the buffet. Went back at 7.30, ordered a tawa roti & paneer capsicum vegetable. Both fresh, hot and tasty -not bland nor too spicy. In fact the other members in the group had dinner around 8.30 and they too were happy with their a la carte order.
We checked out early next morning to go for Vaishno devi temple and then onto Jammu.

Hotel Asia Vashnodevi, Katra is a below rated hotel.
Hotel Asia Vaishnodevi, Katra was a very horrible hotel. The rooms were very cosy and not very appealing. To get hot water in the bathroom, everytime we had to inform the reception. They keep it switched off everytime. The food was of very poor quality. I would give 0 rating for this hotel.

Worst property in Katra!
Worst hotel in Katra without a doubt! Very very poor services. Their swimming pool has been filling since our two days stay at the hotel. Still not filled up. They charge a decent amount of charges for amenities like swimming pool but the guests cannot use the pool at all. Very poorly maintained rooms with broken balcony and shortage of charging points in the room. We decided to have foot massage done at the hotel premises by the masseuse. They were charging Rs.300 for 30 minutes but then they started washing their hands in 15 minutes and told us that we were done. Very unprofessional to say the least. This was my 7th visit to Katra and was very unsatisfied with the issues faced during the stay. Will never recommend this property which could have been so much better with a bit of renovation and a bit of professionalism. The only positive part was the breakfast where the staff was very courteous and served us very nicely with a smile. Overall, please avoid this property.

Guys think twice before staying in this property. We usually stay in Tridev but this time we thought we will stay away from the crowd so we booked a 4 bed room. After seeing condition of 3 rooms, we finalised one. They charge you for the lovely picture of the pool and the property but for the 2 days we stayed they kept saying we are cleaning and filling up the pool. They expected us to swim in a 2 ft water pool. The property is old so there are lot of places where its visible. Breakfast was supposed to be buffet but I guess there were less people so they just served it on the table. Average food. Please do not waste your hard earned money in this property here. They charge for the swimming pool which is the only extra facility they provide here but that also is not functioning. When we asked for a late checkout they extended for an hr and told we have to pay half day price for more extension. They could have made it up for not providing the facilities. Stay away from this property. Thank you.
