Wonderful stay, with comfortable accomodations, and incredibly kind and helpful staff on such a beautiful and tranquil property.

Need better house-keeping and transparent instructions!

First impression was amazing - fluttering of prayer flags, warm lighting and amazing vibes. The rooms are decent-sized, clean and cosy. The institute premises are pristine once the crowd leaves. However, these are the cons -
1) I spent 3 nights there, and while the towels and sheets were changed, the floor in the room was not mopped. That's like half room service!
2) Bottled water was offered on day 1 only. However, RO filtered water was offered when requested without any charge.
3) On the first night, the water stopped in the bathroom at midnight, and the person at reception was clueless and said it would only be fixed in the morning. However, some time later, the water started.
4) No instructions were given about breakfast and dinner at the restaurant. Only after reaching there can we know that the last order for dinner is at 8:30 pm, and breakfast is served in buffet style only if all rooms are occupied. We wasted a lot of time due to this.

Unique experience of staying next to a small monastery, and value for money, but service was poor.
Bath didn't have got water, food service took an hour, waiters failed to understand what we were saying, stray cats and dogs were moving about inside the hotel.
Overall, I will suggest travellers to look for other options, avoid this place

As charming as can be

Norbulinka is getting popular and is fairly busy from 10 am to 6pm . A bit crowded and noisy , quite a setback for those who considered it a
" Hidden Gem " . A stay at Norling House is the only way you can enjoy the real charm of the place .
It is a beautiful hotel . Warning - the Tibetan restaurant has huge servings , so order carefully to avoid wasting food .
The birdsong , landscaping and running water are worth a lifetime's memories .
