A Royal Retreat Amidst Nature

Recently stayed at Sheikhpura Haveli and it was a truly refreshing experience. The property is nestled amidst lush greenery with peacocks wandering around, adding to the charm. Our suite was spacious and tastefully done — it really gave us a feel of heritage royalty. The food was fresh and delicious, served with warmth. Whether you're a couple looking for a quiet, romantic weekend or a group of friends wanting to unwind and have fun, this place is a hidden gem worth visiting. Dropping one star just for a few minor improvements that could enhance the stay even further - like a leaking ac and falling plaster from ceiling!
Highly recommended for those who want to escape the city and soak in tranquility with a touch of regal elegance.

A Heritage Ripoff!

My stay at WelcomHeritage Sheikhpura Kothi left me feeling underwhelmed and frankly, a bit cheated. While the property markets itself as a premium heritage experience, what I encountered was a poorly maintained building masquerading as luxury accommodation. The room rates starting at ₹12,000+ per night are absolutely not justified by what you actually get. The property desperately needs investment in basic upkeep and maintenance. I arrived expecting a well-preserved heritage experience, but instead found myself dealing with electrical issues, inconsistent toiletries, and deteriorating furniture. For families, there's virtually nothing to do - especially if you have active children. The whole experience felt like paying premium prices for subpar conditions, with management showing a rather dismissive attitude when problems arose.
LOCATION: Getting to Sheikhpura Kothi is an ordeal in itself. The property is located about 150-170 km from Delhi, supposedly a 3-hour drive, but expect closer to 4-5 hours due to poor directions and road conditions. The journey is riddled with speed breakers that will damage your vehicle if you're not careful. Once you enter Hansi town, good luck finding the place - there's absolutely no signage whatsoever. Not a single signboard to guide you, which is inexcusable for a property charging these rates. The location is isolated, with nothing around except farmland, so you're completely dependent on the hotel for everything. There are no nearby restaurants or attractions worth visiting
DINE + DRINK: This is where I felt most ripped off. The food, while home-cooked and reasonably tasty, is outrageously overpriced! But the breakfast was excellent, a cozy experience. Dont miss the killer PARATHAS!
ROOM: We stayed in one of the heritage rooms on the ground floor, so this review is based on that. The rooms are large with high ceilings and four-poster beds, but that's where the positives end. The maintenance is shockingly poor for a heritage property. I encountered peeling paint, knocked-about furniture that's clearly deteriorating with age, and inconsistent toiletries - mixing cheap Lifebuoy soap with Biotique products is just odd. Electricity is a persistent problem, so your AC may not work efficiently even when it's supposedly functional.
FACILITIES: No Gym on site, but they do have an OK outdoor pool.
SERVICE: Friendly staff that cared for all our needs with a smile and made us feel at home and well taken care of. Special Shout-out to RAMESH
HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: Free Wi-Fi that works well all over the property, and the speed is good! A Random TV in the room that never worked!

Peaceful old fashioned charm and luxury with some good home style cooking.

A very peaceful and historic house with a spacious room and comfortable bed. The staff were most welcoming and despite our concerns we had a very very good home cooked dinner. A definite old fashioned and grand experience. Unfortunately we were only there one night as it was a stop on our travels.
The only thing to note was that the pool was closed so worth checking if this is important to you.

Wonderful slice of North Indian history and relaxation

Staying at Sheikhpura Kothi was an amazing, peaceful experience. We enjoyed the natural beauty and rustic architecture, which helped us relax and rejuvenate. In particular, Mahipal ji and staff were great hosts and took wonderful care of us - going above and beyond in their service. We highly recommend this to both international and local tourists, to unwind and experience homely, historical North India. Thank you!

Great place to unwind!

We were at Sheikhpura Kothi for 2 nights, the place is extremely comfortable with excellent hospitality. The manager and the staff were very attentive and took utmost care in ensuring we had a pleasant stay. The resort is beautifully situated in the midst of trees and mustard fields and has a lovely pool with manicured lawns. Rooms are large and well appointed. The place maintains its old world charm while providing guests with modern luxuries. A perfect place for a relaxing stay away from the stress of city life!
