Awesome location, awesome service, mind blowing behaviour, great view from balcony as well as from room. The Red Panda Eco Hut is a great option to stay in kolakham. Well decorated room and fresh flower will welcome you. You will see the homestay first as you enter Kolakham

RED PANDA ECO HUTS, KOLAGHAM
RED PANDA ECO HUT, KOLAGHAM it's a very very good and enjoyable home stay at NEORA VALLEY. I stayed there with my family for a night and a day. The rooms are clean, the toilets are fantastic. As it is just beside the road you are not to carry your luggage downstairs or upstairs. The kitchen!!!!!! It's amazing. The taste of the food will take a long period to forget.
What about the owner, Mr Debasish Nag?????
He is so kind and careful to the boarder that he is always in touch with the boarders for their convenience either over phone or in presence.
The caretaker Mr. Madhu and his family members are so cordial and helpful that one can't want to leave the place.
The amazing beuty of the Himalayan range from the bed with the different type of whistling of the birds is an additional gift.
However I'm waiting for the next visit to Neora valley and I must stay at RED PANDA ECO HUT.

Good place, good food, awesome views
We visited Red Panda Eco Hut for 3 nights and 4 days last week at the recommendation of a close relative. We were extremely pleased with the overall setup of the homestay along with the food and services offered by the inhouse manager/caretaker of the property. The owner Mr Debashis is an extremely knowledgeable, supportive and considerate person and his guidance has helped us extremely during our trip.
This place is situated within the Neora Valley Reserve Forest and is an ideal gateway for bird watchers, trekkers and adventurists. I selected this place as an ideal location for digital detox and to be close to nature for me and my parents. The wood paneled rooms of the homestay are moderately furnished with basic amenities but sufficient for tourists visiting the place.
Though initially I was a little apprehensive going through some of the Google reviews for this place, but I am happy to say that my experience has been completely different compared to some of the reviews documented. To avoid any confusion or complication, I would urge prospective boarders to call Mr Debashis directly for your booking requirements and make good use of the property for the intended purpose.

Nice & Comfortable stay with great view
Stayed two nights here at Red Panda Eco Huts with Freind.We went for a Birding trip in Lava &Kolakham which was highly successful.Red Panda Eco Huts is a small cosy friendly place to stay.Great View of the Great Himalayan range from the room itself.Room is nice & clean with attached bath & Toilet.Electricity is available all the time.Special mention about the manager Mr Madhu who’s the manager & caretaker & a fantastic cook.He is very very well behaved & friendly.He took care of all our needs including arranging the car for Birding trips.

Nature Lovers' Paradise
Whether you like a lot of activities like trekking, sightseeing or to spend your time leisurely enjoying the nature during your trip - either way you will love Kolakham which is a beautiful and peaceful village located near Lava and just outside Neora Valley National Park. The property is small with three rooms. We stayed in the room which is below the road level on a slope with a narrow balcony. On clear days, Kanchenjunga and Nathula can be enjoyed from the bed itself, but we were extremely unfortunate as we did not have the blessings of Weather God. However, the misty mountains with chirping of birds and warm hospitality of always-smiling Madhu and Pramita were no less enjoyable though. The room was cozy with attached bath having geyser. The food were simple and tasty and always freshly cooked. Needless to say that the choice is limited in this kind of remote place. Overall we liked the place very much, though it would have been more enjoyable would we get clear mountain view at least momentarily. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the pristine nature and could recharge our urban lungs with fresh forest air. Hope we greedy human do not let spoil it.
