Excellent short trip
Visited Shantiniketan on 25th and 26th Jan 2025 , Stayed at “RaktokorbiKarugram“resort.Quick booking , smooth travel .
Serine atmosphere,well maintained rooms/ huts . Soothing ambience ,hot and tasty food, well behaved and courteous staff . I recommend to friends and relatives .

Poor Hygiene and laid back attitude running a good concept
Everything you touch or see can be a lizard poop. It's everywhere. False ceiling of cottages are full of living and dead lizards.
Rooms is main building are better but they are small and their ceiling is very low that might feel clostrophobic. Cottage rooms are very dark and hardy any light enters there due to their surroundings. People who can't see a glimpse of green and live in concrete world might like this place but not someone who lived their fair share of life in greenery.
No Google reviews stands true. I booked this resort knowing that it is situated 8 km away from Bolpur after going through google reviews but I regretted it.

Cleanliness rating is big zero here. No hygiene is maintained whatsoever.
You don't have anything to do after 6 pm. This resort is dead at night. No music playing even during puja holidays. No festive lighting. Even the lighting during night time are very less. Forget about going out during this time as there are plenty of insects and mosquito swarming this place. You need to turn off the light of bathroom otherwise there will be insect party there.
There were one cook and two service boys. They are trying their best to accommodate all guests but even they are humans. Their behavior was very cordial. Full respect for them.
Food quality was average. Hotel beleieves it's the best but actually it's not. Food is average not bad. Some items are good and some are not good.
There is lack of consistency in food preparation. Fish finger made on first evening was good but on the next evening it was raw inside.
No intercom. You need to. Manually dial phone to place food orders. Room service was slow when there are 2-3 families occupied.
The worst thing about this place is the laid back attitude by the manager and probably by the owner. They build this property long ago but hardly maintaining it. No proper cleaning during stays.
If you go there with buch of people, you may not find it problematic but please don't go there as couples.

Very Bad experience in repeat visit
The electrical connections were not functioning. TV recharge took 6hrs and 10 follow ups.
No toiletries provided
I had visited this resort in Jan21 but this tike found it has degraded like anything

What was served as karai chicken was some shreds of chicken in white liquid

Incredible Experience
Anando Dhara Bohiche Bhubone.....these were the lines we friends hummed in our total stay in Rokto Korobi Resort. Incredible ambience...takes you to the rustic glory....all modern amenities are available...very helpful staff....always ready to accommodate.....If you want to feel Rabi Thakur straight from your heart and enjoy Baul in the morning with a warm cup of tea .... If you are the one who enjoys singing with the birds while the sun brings in a new day while gazing across the paddy fields....If you enjoy tapping your feet with the beats of Madol and Dhamsha holding hands with the gorgeous Santhal ladies......THIS IS THE PLACE TO COME....Awesome place to unwind...Special mention of Sourav Naskar, Sk. Rahim and Ranjit who were ever so helpful and always ready to make out experience unique......the smell of earth was constant and we were a group of 4 ladies who felt so comfortable and secured. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Clean Beds. Well sanitised. Regular housekeeping. All COVID norms strictly abided by......

I visited this place for the 5th time this Dec. This itself tells how much I loved it as a weekend retreat. But I must point out a few major disappints this time.
1. Not satisfied with sanitization
2. No temperature checks were done.
3. Lunch- though it was pre-ordered but not served. They served that to some one else.
4. Surprisingly no entry was done in register.
5. Service guys were hardly wearing masks. The manager was not wearing at all.
6. The Baul singer was spitting here and there.
7. The cups in the room and even in the dining hall had cracks. We had to change twice for a cup of tea.
I am extremely sad that such a beautiful place has deteriorated as much.
I hope this review will make the management sit up and take action to bring back this place to its glory.
