Beautiful location but needs improvement
The location of this hotel is fantastic with beautiful views over the west coast of the island. It’s in a peaceful location, the view of the sunsets is outstanding and thats the best thing going for it (and Maria who works in the restaurant at lunch times).
We arrived around 3pm and there was nobody on reception. We had to search the restaurant for someone to check us in. We were given our key and that was that, no info, and told that reception would be open again around 5.30.
The building from the outside is nice but there’s a horrible stale smell in the reception and hallways, not helped by the guy smoking behind the desk and well as someone else smoking in the living room. Our room thankfully wasn’t as bad. But the whole place needs a good clean and a refresh.
I’d read other reviews on Booking.com that amenities were minimal and they weren’t kidding. No tea/ coffee facilities, no guest toiletries or shampoo and conditioner, just soap. Fortunately we came prepared.
We had booked a room with balcony and sea view but it was more a Juliette balcony with no room to sit out on and enjoy the view. The shower head wouldn’t stay in one place and the shower curtain could do with being renewed. The pillows were lumpy and really uncomfortable.
Breakfast was woeful… starts at 8am, first day we’d got there just past 9 and there was nothing left but some yoghurt, jams and cold meat/ cheese. We learned to get there early, but even then there’s not much to choose from. No fresh fruit apart from apples and oranges. Handful of pastries, and perhaps omelette or a fried egg if you’re lucky. At 8.15 one morning the hot breakfast warmers remained empty for another half hour.
It seems that it’s a place that people come back to every year, judging from the conversations we had with other guests. I get it for the location, view and sunsets but not sure what else.
There were just no staff anywhere and WiFi was non existent in the room.
Pelekas is lovely and we ate in town every night and were out most days, choosing not to spend much time at the hotel. It feels stuck in the past or a time warp and the owners are clearly happy to leave it that way.

Beautiful building
Very imposing hotel in a unique place. Charming rooms with nice views. Nice bathrooms, faucets need an update. Reception could be better. For breakfast could be better, especially the organization of it.

Great place, great view, fantastic cuisine
A wonderful experience! The beauty of nature, the great view and the friendliness of the staff can really enrich a stay. I also really enjoy the Greek cuisine. This place is definitely worth a visit

Built to provide stunning views and looks-which it delivers.
Arriving by foot (like us), or car, this family run, boutique, hotel certainly delivers a wow factor. You receive a pleasant greeting to this artistic and regal looking 31 room resort (6 are the refurbished attic rooms).
The rooms (ours was a double) are nicely decorated although the comfy beds are rather low! Great balcony that furnishes you with amazing views. We enjoyed the west coast with its majestic cliffs, sandy beaches and, of course, the sunsets! The shower is OK but nothing to write home about.
Dinning comes via a well-stocked kitchen that provided local sourced produce care of their talented chef. Prices are reasonable if you don’t have a pre-arranged paid meal. Breakfast in served in the lower dinning area, either in-doors or as most choose to do on the delightful terrace. It is self service with a mix of continental or cooked eggs and bacon. The bread is delivered direct from the nearby bakery and is wonderful. However, breakfast starts at 8 a.m. and for the hardy walkers an earlier eating time would have proved helpful.
It was too chilly to try the pool, which looked delightful nevertheless. The guest areas of the hotel have an array of artifacts, pictures and photographs which give an insight to the local history and culture. The bar is well run although you would miss out if you did not avail yourself of the local village bars just a short walk downhill. For those with their own transport the hotel has private parking.
