For the second time perfect

We were here for the 2nd time and everything was perfect again. The hotel, the peace and Markos as perfect host. Always ready to help and to inform.

Would not book this hotel again.

We expected more for an apartment at a price of €145 per day without breakfast. Simple furniture, kitchen area is basic. The bathroom is small and outdated (see pictures). The hotelier was unpleasant.
For some reason, the smoke detector went off even though we are non-smokers and had not cooked anything. The hotelier immediately suspected us.
We wanted to pay the day before since we wanted to take the early ferry.
The hotelier said that was not possible because he needed to check our room before departure!!! We were then able to pay the next day before the ferry departed.
The room was large and clean but cold.

A perfect stay.

The accommodation is large, spotless, and very well equipped.
The hotel is very well located in the charming little village of Sougia.
The breakfast is quite acceptable.
But what is a plus is the personalized welcome from Marcos, the hotel manager, whose goal is to support his guests' stay with his wise advice and unwavering availability.
He loves his village, his region, and he makes us love them as well.

A Perfect Stay in Sougia! ✨

I stayed at Syia Hotel for a few nights and absolutely loved it. The room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable, with everything I needed for a relaxing stay. The location is perfect — just a short walk to the beach, tavernas, and the quiet charm of Sougia.
What really stood out was the warm hospitality. The owner Markos and his family were so kind and welcoming, always happy to help with local tips and recommendations. It felt less like staying in a hotel and more like being a valued guest in someone’s home.
If you’re looking for a peaceful, clean, and friendly place to stay in Chania’s south coast, Syia Hotel is a true gem. I will definitely be back!

Super helpful and knowledgeable host, with excellent advice on local hikes/places to eat; great location in a lovely mellow seaside town (despite a day of unusually high winds!)
