The silence, the nature, the hospitality, and the flavors of Greece, pampered by Anastasia
There are beautiful vacations, there are relaxing vacations, there are vacations with unique landscapes, there are vacations with genuine and very kind hosts, there are vacations where the location of the house you choose is perfect...
And then there is Akrogialis Apartment which has all these things together.
We traveled with my wife and my 15-year-old son, in search of relaxation, of a simple apartment but with everything needed, with silence, to enjoy the scents and the views that Karpathos offers, far from the cities or noisy centers. Arrived at the apartment (the structure is composed of 8 apartments, 4 on the ground floor and 4 on the first floor, each with private access) and opened the balcony door, 200 meters of countryside open up before us with vines, olive trees, pomegranate trees, fig trees, maritime pines, and there in the distance a slice of sea, deep blue. Immediately we are cradled by the wind that enters from an opening in the door and exits from the window. A cool, relaxing, magnificent breeze... It is also strong, and if you are not careful, the doors slam violently... The first few nights we let ourselves be lulled by this constant cool breeze, and by the waves of the sea in the distance. It really felt like a dream.
The small kitchenette has the bare essentials for making breakfast and a few quick lunches. We had all our breakfasts on the balcony, consisting of Greek yogurt and honey, toast and jam, milk and coffee and... The figs of an exaggerated goodness that EVERY MORNING the wonderful Anastasia or her son Mihalis would have us find on the edge of the balcony or in the kitchen. "Kalimera, Kalimera" a few words incomprehensible to those who do not know Greek, and Anastasia would show up with her smile and a bowl with 10 figs... We devoured them, to the point that she suggested we go pick them ourselves in the garden!
We read about the ants, and they are indeed a problem, but absolutely solvable if you clean the dishes immediately, if you keep bread, sugar, and any open food in well-sealed bags away from the window. In this way, we did not see them anymore...
We had dinner several times in the apartment; the small stovetop allows you to make pasta with sauce, while the kettle boils water quickly for pasta or for coffee and/or herbal teas. The fridge is small but more than sufficient to keep water, yogurt, and anything else cool without problems, with a small freezer.
The property is surrounded by fruit trees, olive trees, vines, there are shelters made with grapes hanging available to be eaten, all constantly kept clean and tidy by the two owners. EVERY DAY our bathroom was cleaned, and every 3 days the whole apartment was cleaned, the sheets were changed, the trash cans were emptied, and new toilet paper was brought.
The room is comfortable, the beds are cozy with a medium-firm mattress, both the double bed and the single bed for our son who slept in the kitchenette area.
The bathroom is just the right size, with a comfortable shower and towels changed almost every day. There is the issue of the toilet paper not being flushed down the toilet, but instead thrown into a designated trash can. It might not be pleasant if you don't know that it is standard practice throughout Greece, but you eventually get used to it, and the trash can is emptied every day.
In short, if you want a very relaxing place, to be treated like family friends, 15 minutes on foot from the idyllic beaches of Lefkos (2 minutes by car), in a spartan apartment but with everything you need, with a view that fills your heart, far from the noise and surrounded by greenery, this is truly your place.
Mihalis speaks good English, so no communication problems for those who know it.
Payment on-site with a debit card; cell service (Vodafone and Wind) is poor, but there is an open Wi-Fi just outside the door that helps you stay connected to the world.

Hospitality and pure Greek atmosphere!
Rustic but essentially functional apartment, ideally located in lefkos to enjoy the various wonderful beaches of this resort with its restaurants. Strong point: the complete immersion in the Greek atmosphere, in nature, among cats, vineyards and orchards with a sweet Uma named Anastasia, hospitable hostess, sweet with our two-year-old and always ready to offer fresh fruit from its orchards. Vote 9, especially for those who live in the city and want to "other"!

Vivere la Grecia !
Prima volta a Karpathos e su suggerimento di amici abbiamo scelto Lefkos per il nostro soggiorno di fine settembre. Periodo ideale se si vuole una vacanza senza troppa folla ma con temperature estive. Akrogiali apartments mi ha subito ispirato dalle foto su internet e dalla posizione tranquilla e comoda alle spiagge di Lefkos ( tutte meritevoli), infatti a 100 m. Potali Beach ( prevalentemente di ciotoli, mare mosso per il vento, presenza di ombrelloni e lettini a 10 euro al giorno, ristorante) e a 20' a piedi si raggiunge la zona centrale , baia cristallina e con numerose taverne e poi la spiaggia di Frangolimonas.
Gestione familiare della struttura, monolocale con tipico letto carpatio ( tra l'altro comodissimo), angolo cottura ( frigo e piastre ad induzione, non molto attrezzato come utensili, ma noi facevamo solo colazione..), bagno di recente ristrutturazione, aria condizionata e ventilatore ( non necessari in settembre, ma sicuramente indispensabili in piena estate), wifi ( non sempre attivo), terrazzo vista mare. Alloggio pulito, cambio biancheria ogni 3 gg e pulizie giornaliere della camera . Un incanto grazie anche alla gentilezza della sig.ra Anastasia , sempre sorridente e pronta ad omaggiarci di frutta del suo giardino.
Prezzo ottimo ( prenotato direttamente via mail). Soggiorno molto piacevole.

Tolles Appartment
Super Lage, schöne Aussicht aufs Meer, ruhig und wirklich sehr liebe Gastgeber. Es ist alles da was man braucht, Kühlschrank, Herdplatte, Dusche, Doppelbett, Kasten etc.
Wir haben uns sehr sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen bestimmt wieder! Anastasia und Michalis sind sehr lieb und haben uns ständig mit frischen Obst aus dem Garten verwöhnt.
