Amazing hotel - will definitely be coming back!
We absolutely loved our stay at Avali Marbella. It’s a small, quiet hotel, which means you never feel crowded or like you’re fighting for space around the pool.
The staff are honestly one of the best things about the hotel. Minas at front of house is fantastic. He learns your name, remembers little things about you and what you like, and nothing ever seems too much trouble. He really makes an already amazing hotel feel incredible. Every member of staff goes out of their way to say hello and they are all so friendly, sweet and jolly. You really do feel like you’re part of a family there.
The food was also brilliant. There’s a different theme at the buffet each night and it was genuinely the best buffet food we’ve ever had at a hotel. There was always plenty of choice and we really enjoyed it.
The beds are really comfortable, both in the rooms and the sun loungers! You also never have to worry about getting a sun bed. Even going down at 11am, there were still lots available, which was a nice change from other hotels where people are up at 6am putting towels down.
The whole hotel has such a chilled atmosphere. No loud music, shouting or anything like that, so it’s really easy to relax. Children are allowed, but even during the summer holidays there seemed to be relatively few, and with no big slides or kids’ entertainment, the children that were there were generally very calm.
The rooms are lovely, clean and feel brand new. The blackout curtains are also a great touch and definitely helped with getting a good night's sleep.
There is an indoor and outdoor gym. They are fairly basic but have everything you need, and the view from the outdoor gym is amazing.
The views from the hotel are beautiful. The beach isn’t technically private, but it feels like it because hardly anyone else seems to use it. The free paddle boards, kayaks and pedalos are also a great bonus and we made good use of them.
The whole hotel is absolutely immaculate and feels very well looked after.
Overall, we couldn’t fault our stay. It’s the perfect place if you want somewhere beautiful, peaceful and relaxed, with amazing staff who genuinely care about making sure you have a great holiday.
We will 100% be coming back!

A slice of heaven!
We have just returned from a 10 night stay at the Avali, a family of four travelling with teenage daughters. We were all of the same view, this was one our favourite hotel stays we have ever had.
There are lots of excellent reviews already and so I don’t want to replicate, but if it’s helpful for future TA community member here is our takeaways:
The hotel and grounds:
- it’s a small hotel on a relatively compact grounds. This gives it a boutique feel. There is plenty of space for all guests, intact that was a big part of why we found this the most relaxing of hotels we have stayed at, no bottle necks at meal times, no queues for anything, plenty of room around the pool, no waiting for coffee machines or the infamous toaster at breakfast. It all feels just right.
- the finish is classy, the decor and furniture is lovely and adds to that relaxed feel. The whole place is kept immaculately clean all of the times (with the possible exception of the pool toilets that could do with a more regular mop at peak and my daughters didn’t like the glass doors) and the smell throughout the hotel is lovely.
- we loved the water refill stations all around the hotel and giving every guest a complimentary bottle to refill during your stay is a nice touch.
- the rooms are also really lovely. As it’s the first full season everything still feels very new. The beds were so comfortable and the rooms so quiet that we all agreed we slept so well for the entire stay. If you book a Mountain View room, it is worth trying for one of the higher floors (the whole hotel is only 4 floors high) as many of these rooms are road facing. The side and sea view rooms are blissful. That Corfu light is so lovely. Thankyou to July who kept our room immaculate throughout and who’s towel art was spectacular!
- as others have mentioned, there are two gyms, one inside and one outside. I used the indoor gym most mornings. It’s well equipped for a hotel of its size and never felt too busy.
- the pool - oh my word. One of the best we have ever had at a hotel. Absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful tiles, a nice temperature and infinity views across the sea. And again, even in peak August it didn’t feel too busy.
- the beach is just steps away from the loungers and pool. It’s pebble and public and not very wide, but we loved having it right there and swam in the sea every day (very flat a d safe - there is sea grass which might feel off putting but it’s absolutely fine). And on the beach you will meet the wonderfully Zen Mateus who runs the water sports centre. We loved that you have 30mins free use every day and agin, we never found that there was a queue which is often common else where. The chats before and after our SUP sessions were one of the nights of my day - what a gent!
- the planting of the grounds has been done very thoughtfully and is gorgeous.
Food and drink
- really excellent and everyone has said. The buffet is not big but has lots of variety. It’s on a seven day rotation but even after 10 days it didn’t get tired. It’s calm even at peak times. Drinks are brought to the table ( no queuing for the coffee machine) and service was generally quick and so friendly.
- you can use the restaurants at the other two sister hotels, we used the French at the Mar-Bella and found it OKAY but no more. Stia at the Avali however was fabulous. The pork tomahawk and the sea base being highlights of the week. Our advice would be, visit the other if you like, it will only make you value what is on offer back at the Avali all the more.
That brings me to People - this is where the hotel is simply outstanding and why we can’t wait to return. The whole team were great but a special mention goes to the hotel manager Panagiotis and his front of house reception team and especially Minas the Food and Beverage manager - the culture you have created is second to none. We have never felt so welcome and so comfortable. Last but by no means least, the wonderful Theodora is the lobby bar who is an absolute credit to the place, always smiling, so friendly and highlight of every evening.

A perfect honeymoon
Avali Mar-Bella is a hotel made of magic. The food is impeccable, the rooms immaculate, the pool a dream. However, what makes this hotel so special is the staff.
There is a warmth here that is difficult to describe, even on top of the scorching Greek sun. You are not simply served and greeted; you are cared for. Somewhere along the course of your holiday, the people working here start to become part of it.
The second we stepped onto the hotel grounds, we were greeted by Panagiotis, who carried our bags to our room and showed us around. Here, we also met Maria, who welcomed us and explained everything we could possibly need for our stay.
We also met Mr Minas, the food and drinks manager, who somehow made sure we had cocktails in our hands before we'd even sat down. He is a master at what he does and spent our entire holiday anticipating needs we hadn't even thought of. What a legend.
Our room was kept absolutely immaculate throughout our stay, and Angie deserves enormous recognition for that. Coming back each day to a beautifully clean, comfortable room was one of those little luxuries you quickly come to appreciate.
These are parts of a hotel stay that could easily go unnoticed. At Avali, they don't, because the people doing them bring so much care to what they do.
Now we get to Theodora.
There are people you meet on holiday who are simply good at their jobs, and then there are people who somehow become part of your memories of the holiday itself. Theodora is firmly in the second category.
Funny, warm, attentive and completely herself, she is an absolute credit to Avali. Going to the bar wasn't just about getting a drink; we genuinely looked forward to seeing her. She remembered us, chatted with us, made us laugh and made every day that little bit better.
Jakub deserves exactly the same recognition. Brilliant at what he does and always welcoming, he helped create the relaxed atmosphere around the bar and pool that we loved so much.
The pool area is gorgeous, but honestly, it's the people around it who give it its personality.
Hotel buffets can sometimes feel anonymous and functional. This one never did, largely because of Alexandra, Sofia and Rose.
Alexandra, specifically, deserves special recognition for making us feel at home while we were abroad. She was constantly looking after us and making sure everything was going perfectly.
Every meal came with smiles, conversation and the feeling that nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent, but being welcomed by familiar, smiling faces every day made breakfast, lunch and dinner even better.
Stia deserves a special mention of its own.
The restaurant is beautiful and the food wonderful, but George and Dmitria turned dinner into an experience rather than simply another meal. They were attentive without hovering, knowledgeable without being formal, and incredibly friendly.
It felt relaxed, personal and special: exactly what you want from a restaurant on holiday.
If you're staying at Avali, don't miss an evening here.
Maria. What can I say?
Magic hands.
The spa itself is wonderfully peaceful, but Maria made the experience exceptional. From the moment I arrived, I felt completely looked after. She was kind, professional and clearly incredibly skilled at what she does.
It was one of those treatments where you walk out afterwards wondering why you don't spend your entire life in a spa.
If you book a treatment, ask for Maria.
I would love to review the gym.
I really would.
Unfortunately, despite walking past it on my way to the bar and acknowledging its existence, our relationship never progressed any further.
I'm sure it's excellent. It certainly looked excellent.
Perhaps next time. Probably not.
And that is really the point of this review.
You can build a beautiful hotel. You can put it beside a stunning beach, fill it with gorgeous furniture, serve excellent food and make brilliant cocktails.
But you cannot manufacture the feeling that Avali has.
That comes from people.
From Minas and Maria welcoming you. Angie looking after your room. Panagiotis greeting you as you pass. Alexandra, Sofia and Rose making mealtimes feel personal. George and Dmitria making an evening at Stia special. Maria somehow removing every ounce of tension from your body.
And Theodora and Jakub making you want to stay at the bar for just one more.
We arrived as guests. We left genuinely sad to say goodbye to people we didn't even know before this holiday.
Thank you, Avali. And, more importantly, thank you to the wonderful people who make it what it is.

A little piece of paradise
We have stayed in many hotels all over the world and this is definitely in the top 2! All of the furnishings are high quality and brand new. However the best part are the amazing staff.
On arrival we were warmly greeted by Timothe and Minas the food and beverage manager. Minas got us his special lemonade . Minas is incredible and knows every guest by their first name.
Minas treats his guests and staff as if they were family and this is replicated by the team of caring and attentive staff. The staff genuinely appear happy at work and this is evident with the friendly relationship between themselves.
Attention to detail is second to none with bar staff remembering previous days drinks orders, restaurant staff remembering wine preferences and allergies. The buffet is of the very highest standard with a lovely selection of food changing daily , with some themed evenings as well. The à la carte restaurant was just outstanding, so much beautiful food.
Unfortunately our last night was a fish theme and Minas remembered my husband's allergy and personally organised my husbands choice of meat from the à la carte restaurant, just amazing customer service!
We had a maintenance issue in our room which was dealt with so professionally and we were reallocated an upgraded room and the staff were so helpful moving our belongings.
Special mentions have to go to these wonderful people :
Minas for his help, humour and amazing charisma
Theodora in the lobby bar, who manages a busy bar service so well and such a lovely smile… Yamas !!!
Alexandra who managed the lobby bar during the day, such a lovely lady
Maria on reception was lovely and so kind and helpful
Dimintria who served us in the restaurants was so lovely
Mark who was so knowledgeable about the wines available and so looked after us.
I could carry on naming so many wonderful people that made our holiday so very special.
The hotel had low key entertainment every night but the outside cinema night was so special relaxing on the best loungers ever … we watched Pretty Woman!
We did visit the other two Marbella collection hotels which wasted an hour of Avali paradise, they just don’t compare.
We will return in a blink of an eye. We are missing this little paradise!

Alexandra who managed the lobby bar during the day, such a lovely lady
Maria on reception was lovely and so kind and helpful
Dimintria who served us in the restaurants was so lovely
Mark who was so knowledgeable about the wines available and so looked after us.
I could carry on naming so many wonderful people that made our holiday so very special.
The hotel had low key entertainment every night but the outside cinema night was so special relaxing on the best loungers ever … we watched Pretty Woman!
We did visit the other two Marbella collection hotels which wasted an hour of Avali paradise, they just don’t compare.
We will return in a blink of an eye. We are missing this little paradise!
