Clean, basic accommodation with a great view

For the amount we paid we had no great expectations of luxury when we arrived at these apartments. We dropped in to get the key from Kefalonia Travel and were shown up to the apartments by Jonny who may have been the owner, he in any case managed them. Our apartment (7) was a decent size and was ideal for our needs. It was by no means luxurious but had a reasonable level of comfort. We made good use of the balcony which had a super view over the harbour and was in fact the best feature as it was not overlooked by anyone and we had complete privacy. There was also a rear balcony with a clothes airer which was useful. In the kitchen was a 2 hob oven which we soon discovered had a problem: it had a dodgy switch which shorted the electrics! We reported same to Jonny who came straightaway to sort us out and the next day we found the oven had been replaced. The bed was very comfortable and we slept really well in the quiet, dark bedroom. If you are looking for luxury accommodation then this is possibly not the place for you, however it met our needs ideally. Agia Efimia itself is a delightful place to base yourself for exploration of the northern part of Kefalonia.

Worst choice ever, avoid it at any cost

One of the worst choices you can make. Awful room, definitely not properly cleaned and poorly maintained, spiders all over the walls. Clogged bathtub, missing bed boards so that mattress was not properly supported and a sofa so old and dirty that must have never been cleaned. Air con not working and owner not willing to do anything except from receiving the money. The only good thing was the view from the balcony. If we could rate it with zero, we definitely would do so.

TERRIFIC SITUATION

Just enjoyed a lovely week here in an apartment (no 2) with wonderful views. Well equipped facilities with 2 balconies. Very near to many good restaurants. Car Parking could be an issue in high season and there are a lot of steps up from the town so need to be fit! Internet not great. Need a car to fully explore the wonderful beaches nearby. But generally terrific and RECOMMEND

Best views

We have just spent 3 weeks staying in the apartment in the Boulevard Aetos apartment block. It consisted of a lounge/dining/ kitchenette, bedroom and bathroom, all very spacious especially the bathroom, never had such a big bathroom in Greece. The kitchenette had all amenities that is needed and the apartment was serviced with clean linen every 3 days. Johny at Kefalonia travel goes out of his way to help and provide everything you need, we asked for a filter coffee machine and an airer so to put wet towels and bathing costumes on, theses were both purchased and provided for us.
It has some of the best views in Agia Efimia, looking out over the sea, harbour and the mountains, lovely in the evenings to sit and enjoy an Ouza before venturing out to one of the many restaurants to choose from around the harbour. These can be accessed just short walk down the hill or down the steps outside the apartment. There are a couple of small bays short walk from the apartment but if you have a car there are many beaches to choose from around the island, nothing is much more than an hours drive away. I would have given it 5 stars but access to the apartments are not easy if you have any mobility problems. All are situated on the third and fourth floors and there are 30 plus steps up the side of the building before you enter to the entrance, these steps do not have a hand rail so it can be quite difficult if you have mobility issues, once inside there are another set of steps up to the apartment these are not mentioned in any adverts so we were not aware till we arrived. Apart from this we had great time here.
