The reception staff were lovely but .......

Staying at the Pretty Pride Hotel was an experience. We arrived to be told that our Expedia booking was not there. One of the directors had fallen out with Expedia so they don’t deal with them anymore. We were asked to pay the hotel directly and ask Expedia for a refund. We found this to be a bit silly and not really customer focussed. The check in staff were perfectly nice but weren’t able to give us the wifi password – we had to wait for the manager to give it to us. It took a further two reminders and a phone call (6 hours later) to be given it. When we got the wifi, it was unreliable weak and slow. In the evening there was an revolting and unbearable smell all over the area and whilst this isn’t the hotel’s fault, it was big factor in our not staying the second night. At breakfast, we were informed that the room cost only covered one meal. We were expected to pay for the other one. We said that we would only have one breakfast as the only option was omelette and not something I would eat. This is a bizarre way to run a hotel. We needed taxis on a couple of occasions during our stay and Bolt drivers would not pick up our request either to leave or return to the hotel. In order to leave, the security guard had to walk up the unmade road to flag someone down. Not a biggie but it all takes time. All in all, I would not recommend this hotel for a number of reasons.
