Awful

Worst hotel experience EVER!
Freaky German hotel owner greeted us with extreme rudeness after a grueling 10-hour bus ride. The next morning I just wanted to drink my coffee and leave. Instead, this freaky dude was in my face lecturing me (apparently a previous American guest had called him a Nazi! ).
I was on my way to a yoga retreat and just wanted to leave peacefully, but he ended up calling the police to make us leave before our 11:00 a.m. checkout.
The place itself was decent, if bare-bones and overpriced. Definitely not an experience I’d ever repeat.

Great Kitchen Staff, Disappointing Management
We arrived at the hotel around 10:00 PM after an exhausting 10-hour journey. Instead of simply welcoming us, the receptionist told us that we were “lucky” he was still awake to check us in. When I pointed out that late check-in is part of the service we had paid for, he simply replied, “It’s mountain life.” I found this response dismissive and completely unprofessional.
The following morning, my travel companion had an unpleasant interaction with the same receptionist while asking for some milk. During the conversation, the receptionist repeatedly made comments such as, “You Americans are all like this.” I found these remarks completely inappropriate and unacceptable from someone working in hospitality.
The situation escalated very quickly. Instead of trying to resolve the issue calmly and professionally, the staff called the police. After the police arrived, we were required to leave the hotel before the end of our paid stay. While we were packing our belongings, the receptionist stood directly outside our room, watching us and waiting for us to leave as quickly as possible. After spending ten hours traveling to reach the hotel, we were only able to stay for one night before being forced to leave the following morning.
I would also like to mention that I am half Georgian and have been living in Georgia for the past four years. During this time, I have met many wonderful people and have always experienced genuine hospitality, kindness, and respect. That is exactly why this experience was so surprising and disappointing. This review is not about Georgia or Georgian hospitality—on the contrary, my experience living here has been overwhelmingly positive. It is solely about my experience at this particular hotel.
Considering the hotel’s outstanding rating, I genuinely expected a warm welcome, professionalism, and respectful communication. Unfortunately, my experience was the complete opposite.
Another major disappointment was the almost complete lack of soundproofing. Even though my room was located at the very end of the corridor, I could clearly hear conversations, noise from the restaurant and kitchen, and even sounds from outside early in the morning. Getting a proper night’s sleep was impossible.
I would also like to sincerely thank the kitchen staff. They were incredibly kind, welcoming, helpful, and genuinely cared about making guests feel comfortable. They were by far the best part of our stay.
Unfortunately, this experience was far below the level of hospitality I had expected. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this hotel.
