In the town centre, just near cathedral, ABC HOTEL is a good hotel and very attractive and competitive price. The hotel recently was refurbished and is very light and airy, with all the modern facilities. All rooms have been completely refurbished.

To be avoided
Hotel to avoid.
I had the misfortune of booking a night at this hotel through the hotel.com platform.
First pitfall: upon your arrival, you will be asked to check in at a self-service kiosk, where you will pay, but it will not provide you with your invoice or room number, as the printer is apparently out of order (information from the person answering the phone).
The room is very average. No soap in the bathroom (remember your shower gel). The reception, open from 6 PM to 7 PM (worse than a public administration!), does not provide any dining suggestions for the evening.
The best for last: for your expense reports, do not count on your invoice, you never receive it, the anonymous person responding from the email contact@abchotel-toul.com categorically refuses to resend it to you by email, claiming to have already done so to an email address that seems to belong to the metaverse, and directing you back to the platform, which clearly states on its site that: "Since you chose to pay on-site, the accommodation will provide you with your invoice at the end of your stay."

Good, but it's very cold!
Welcoming clean and functional room good location we are a team of 5 currently for 8days but the big problem the heating 'is not on! We work outside during the day and impossible to warm up in the evening....in the early morning it is 12 degrees in the room not pleasant.....

A HOTEL THAT DOES NOT TAKE INTO ACCOUNT THE CUSTOMER. NO MINIMAL COMFORT. NO SECURITY IN THE BATHROOM.
HOTEL ABC TOUL:
Appalling welcome: while we were on the road, we announced our arrival at 9:00 p.m., the gentleman "not very clear" wanted to close the welcome at 8:30 p.m. (when the official conditions provide for 10:00 p.m.) complaining that he could not pay too much staff...etc Lamentable!
The bathroom should be closed by public authorities because:
- little accessibility to the shower and very high risk of falling.
- Access to the bathtub is blocked by the toilet; No hanging handle. The shower screen partially opens.
You come across a small space on the floor without a bath mat.
The water must be sponged by his close towel. One per person, no more.
No towel rail, no paper dispenser. It's about hygiene.
-The bathtub has no cork so unusable. No hand soap.
Only two hangers. Our clothes found refuge on the one chair (not two) .
Our suitcases have no place to be placed, except on the floor ..No respect for the customer and especially the elderly.
We feel that the guest is there to bring in money, not to be welcomed with a minimum of comfort, nor have a good stay.
Investor, owner of this hotel, you have to invest in your hotel function. No big investment but maximum attention and respect for the customer, professional know-how especially for security and hospitality with basic equipment and correct staff at the reception.
We expect a response from you through actions to redress the hotel service of the only hotel in toul

Basic, clean, but can't say much more
The place seemed to have been freshly decorated, everything was clean.
Unfortunately we did have a bit of an issue with the bed, but I am not sure what the hotel could do about some of it. And it is an inexpensive hotel, so I am trying not to be too critical of it. Manager was fine, slightly weary, but I do not envy him his job!
The bed issue was that it 1. failed to meet the headboard, there was a 3" gap, so the pillows tried to escape down there. Really very soft ( soggy?) pillows. with no support, so they crept down there quite easily. There was a boxed out piece behind the bed- probably containing electrics etc, but the leg of the bed was right up to it, and the bed could not be pushed back further. The bed also humped in the middle, so I felt like a banana. Not so very bad, except sleeping the right way on, my feet seemed higher than my head...
Bathroom was somehow contradictory, felt clean and fresh but with bits missing- there was no hook to hang a towel, or a washbag, or a dressing gown- they had to hang on the floor, but there was a part of something attached to the wall near the sink, which looked as if there ought to be something on it- two small prongs stuck out and nothing useful, about 18"- 2' from the floor??
We paid for breakfast, at a level much the same as everywhere else we stayed, but breakfast , while fresh, was limited. Choice of
1, Hot drink, tea, coffee or hot chocolate. One only, refill not offered.
2. Choice of Croissant, pain au chocolat, or bread roll. One only, no jam no butter
3. Fruit juice. Pineapple, apple or orange.
That was it.
Most other places we were given a buffet breakfast at that price, and could have as many refills of drinks as we needed.
There was nothing wrong with it, as such, just felt a bit, well on the lean side.
Would I go back- probably yes, but I would not bother with the breakfast, We ended up at a shopping centre , where we actually got fed!

Reservation obviously not binding for them
We made a room reservation for 65 Euro and then they charged us then 70 Euro. It was our second stay and we will not come again.
The reservation was obviously not binding for them, and they also have "very noisy long term guests at night".
