Cosy family hotel

Last year I stayed here several weeks for business. I enjoyed every day here. This week I went back and I was not disappointed. The rooms are cosy and clean and the in-house served local dinner meals are are nice change from restaurants. The owner Pascal serves with a smile. Some small improvements would be better wifi-connection and a more choice for breakfast.

Logis in the heart of town

We have enjoyed staying at Logis Hotels in the past, so if we come across one when looking for a place to spend the night, we will usually try to stay at it.
Le Royal Hotel is a Logis located in the centre of Saint-Pol-sur-Ternoise. The town doesn't have much to offer, kind of a sleepy place. We arrived at the hotel in the late afternoon and the door was locked and no one seemed to be around. We went over to a nearby bar for a drink with the hope that when we came back, someone would be there. Luckily it worked out. The gentleman at the desk was very friendly and got us a room. He also directed us to a nearby restaurant as the hotel was not serving dinner that evening.
The hotel is very nice, with lots of pictures and decorations in the hallways. All of the rooms are decorated differently, and ours was very nice, quaint and clean. The lamp on the nightstand was made of large coffee mugs. Breakfast was simple, just some breads with jam, coffee, yogurt and juice. And we parked for free on the street right in front of the hotel.
If you happen to be staying in Saint-Pol-sur-Ternoise, Le Royal Hotel is a nice, comfortable place to stay.

St Pol seems run down

We stayed overnight at Hotel le Royal. Good sized room, very clean, good breakfast.
We walked around St Pol looking for somewhere to eat and were sadly disappointed.
We ate in the Hotel where the owner put together a menu from what he had available. We quite enjoyed having our own chef, and enjoyed a very nice meal.
We were there to do the La Croix circuit. I would not advise travellers to stop in this town. It seems to have little to offer.

Unfriendly women

The host was very friendly and helpful. The hostess however was unfriendly. We had a carbreak down and because the repairations took a long time we wanted to stay in the hotel lobby (we left the room on time). However we were put on the street by the hostess because they close in the afternoon. We had to find a place and carry all our bags that were in the car.

Very friendly place

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in January 2012 and the owner even let me put my Bentley in his garage. Good food. Friendly family run hotel.
