Perfect chateau and Hosts, Ideally located in Normandie

Perfect chateau to spend a few days away with friends, it oozes luxury. The grounds are beautiful and the chateau is perfectly located, only a 5 minute walk from the village. Breakfasts were plentiful and delicious with home made preserves and apple juice. The bedrooms are spacious, comfortable and luxurious, but the highlight has to be the hosts. Arnaud and Geraldine made us feel so welcome. Arnaud gave us lots of advice and recommendations for the local area and for restaurants, all of which were excellent. This is definitely a place to visit again.

Wonderful chateau

The best experience one could imagine! Beautiful decoration, very comforable room, super breakfast with juice and jam produced at the Chateau, and wonderful hosts! It felt like visiting friends. We Will be happy to come back there again.

Guest at Château Saint Maclou

The Chateau was not easy to find at first - no sign, no indication like an ordinary hotel. The impression that this is not an ordinary hotel was confirmed. It was rather like staying with friends in an extraordinary ambience. Géraldine and Arnaud run the castle as owners and hosts. The two of them welcomed us very warmly and showed us around the castle and the park. The castle has been very lavishly renovated and is extremely tastefully decorated. The few, luxurious rooms leave nothing to be desired. An ideal starting point to explore the area.

You Will Be An Easy Keeper

We stayed at Château Saint-Maclou at the end of our French tour. We have been pleased to see how well the Château was renovated and how well the modern world facilities were inserted making it as great to be inside as it is to be outside. These are real property comments but of similar, or even greater importance, is the quality of the welcoming toped with unique information provided by the owners. We found many common ground of interest and had great discussion. We even got the privilege of being guided to some of the area highlights. I am usually not an “easy keeper” as horse people state on difficult to manage horses. At Château Saint-Maclou I was an “easy keeper”.

You feel like you are at home (if you lived in a chateau)

My husband and I stayed at the Chateau for 4 nights in May 2022 and it was ideal. First of all, Arnaud and Geraldine Duchesne, who purchased and updated the property, are the most wonderful hosts you could hope for. They made us feel like part of the family. They were full of marvelous suggestions of places to go and restaurants to eat in. They gave us very useful information about where to park in the various towns and cities we went to and told us about places we didn't even know about which were wonderful. Our room was very large and open and extremely comfortable. Our bathroom was also large and very well equipped. There was nothing Arnaud and Geraldine forgot. And I can't say enough about the fabulous breakfasts they provided. Leaving was very hard.
