Excellent apartment for a true Parisian experience.
My husband enjoyed this quiet, clean and brilliantly located apartment. Even though we picked up the key during peak hour (which I would not recommend),we decided to walk to the aparment from the key pick up. It was a fair distance but wow the scenery was amazing. The metro is very close, everything is so close. Thank you for a great experience one of the highlights of our trip. The wireless was a bit un predictable but who cares.

Avoid at all costs
Poor quality. Met on the pavement outside the apartment building . Grubby entrance and staircase. Poor decor and fittings in the apartment. The linen was ancient and we were bitten by insects in the bed

Don't be deceived! It's not what you booked. Is this legal?
On arrival, we were told that we cannot stay at the location we booked so we had to move to another apartment which is nothing like the photos provided. There were lots of holes in the ceiling, an incredibly small shower room. THERE WAS NO PROPER DOOR TO THE BATHROOM and just a plastic curtain which doesn't close properly. Some bulbs were broken so it was very dark and there were no other services at all (No coffee or tea, no luggage keeping services) THERE WASN'T EVEN ANY TOILET PAPER until we asked the cleaner (At least, he was competent) to get them! We booked the hotel because of the location being close to our transport links, so we would not have booked there if we knew that we would have to relocate. However, the owner insisted that there would be NO DISCOUNT. As we had no time to argue with her, my husband tried to contact the owner. But THE OWNER KEEP IGNORING HIS PHONE CALLS! So we could not persue this further. On the booking website, it says we can use master card or visa but you can't, cash or travellers cheques only. I was told by e-mail which I received just a day before my arrival at the hotel. I already prepared my Euro currency so it was very tough to prepare extra cash at the last minute. The web site said there's a lift but as we had been relocated, we didn't have a lift at the alternative property. We only had a very narrow old staircase which was very hard to climb with the suitcases. There were none of facilities that we were booked for. Is this legal? Even if there was a sudden accident at the apartment we booked, the owner should have apologised to us and given us a time to discuss.

Very basic, good location
If you go in with low expectations then you will be pleased. The apartment was in a good location in the latin quarter close to St. Michel metro/RER, and it was fairly cheap considering the location. The bed was OK, the kitchenette and bathrooms were functional, there was a washing machine and hairdryer, and the heater was good once it got going.
However, not much else was good. The bedding provided was minimal and threadbare, and the blankets needed a wash. There was no toilet paper when we arrived. The TV was an old analog one with no digital converter and it was not possible to get a decent picture at all so it basically sits in a corner and takes up space. The apartment building is dirty and smoke from other people's rooms or the corridor floats in under the door.
If we go back to Paris I would not stay here. I would opt to pay a bit more and find a hotel next time. If you are a backpacker and you are happy to stay somewhere basic then you would probably find this would be OK.

Expensive unclean and unsafe
We arrived late, just as we had written on the booking form, and no-one was there. The front door was locked and we only managed to get in by following another resident in. The phone number we were given was not answered the first time, and then with no other option I tried again, and got an answer. The keys were in the letter box, but unless I had managed to steal my way into the hallway, I would not have been able to get to the letter box. We would literally have been locked out. As it turns out, that might have been a blessing.
We paid extra, for the same room, so that 4 of us could sleep there. But the sofa bed did not open and would not go flat, so we had to remove the mattress and sleep on the floor. The "kitchen" area had debris and cutlery strewn on the work surface. The balcony had a smashed chair on it and about 30 cigarette butts. The btahroom had exposed pipes, light bulbs hanging from the ceiling and a plug hung from the lights/vanity unit that was only partially working. Beneth the kitchen top, and above the washing machine, there were holes smashed into the wall to accommodate plugs and electrical points.
The communal parts of the building were dirty and in disrepair.
This was unpleasant and unsafe, and the owner should be ashamed to present this to innocent tourists, under the deceptive banner of photos on the web.
