A nice and quiet stay near Saumur

The very helpful hostess with lots of tips, the large room, the outdoor breakfast, the pool and the convenient location were perfect for our one-day stay. Highly recommended for another stop between Tours and Angers.

Dreamlike stay in the countryside of France

My husband and I just recently took a vacation in France, in the Loire and Saumur Valley. The area is known for their beautiful countryside, many wineries, ancient castles and quaint villages.
We stayed at Demeure de Beaulieu a 16th century Chateau B&B which is owned and run by Stephanie Lemerond. Stephanie was born and raised in France and also lived in America for over 2 decades, so it was very helpful for us that she spoke fluent English. The Chateau has been totally renovated and decorated in an elegant European style. The grounds are very large with well kept landscaping, an outdoor pool, and koi pond. Stephanie is a very outgoing and gracious hostess who helped us with restaurant and sightseeing choices. Our breakfast was included in our stay there. Every morning Stephanie would run out to the local bakery and would serve us fresh pastries different breads with homemade jam from a local village. Also on the menu was fresh fruit, yogurt, variety of cheeses and local deli meats to choose from. We had a glorious and relaxing stay at the Chateau and highly recommend staying there.

Great find in a sleepy village

We booked 2 nights and stayed 3. Perfect place for touring the Saumur area. Wonderful Chateau excellently restored with fabulous old style bathrooms and bedrooms. Nothing was a problem to the host Elizabeth whose knowledge of the area and beyond was endless. We will be back.

Perfect ending to our French countryside vacation

First of all Elizabeth is amazing; friendly, knowledgeable, helpful. She is the perfect host to this quaint and charming B&B. We traveled with another couple and all of us fell in love with this beautifully maintained "lucky find". We were sorry we couldn't stay longer. Our rooms were huge, nice decor and our room had an enormous bathroom. I wish I had one like it at home! Both the front and the rear windows had a nice view. Quiet, quiet, quiet. We decided to stay put for the evening and made a picnic in the front area.
In the morning we had a delightful European breakfast and I had the best coffee I'd had in two weeks!
We all enjoyed a wonderful stay and conversations with Elizabeth. Thank you Elizabeth, we will definitely be back if we find ourselves in that area of France again and this time stay longer.
