Quiet Hotel great for the Avenue Verte
We used this as a stop-off point on the first night traveling along the avenue verte (London to Paris cycling route). They have a secure place to store bikes!
The hotel is a grand building, with good rooms. Happy with location, the service at reception, and the overall ambience and cleanliness. As it's a little out of the centre of town, it's generally a quiet area, close to the thermes area.
The hotel itself doesn't serve evening food, only breakfast, which we didn't available ourselves of, due to the price. It seems a lot of hotels are inflating the price of breakfast to a level that doesn't appear value for money to me anymore. €15 per head to me sounds too much if all you want is a pain-au-chocolat and a cup of tea.

Hotel very suitable
Room clean and well insulated despite the singing of the rooster in the morning that did not disturb us more than that, functional bathroom but to refresh (ceiling paint), good bedding. Hearty breakfast with good products despite an extra cost of 15 euros.

Failure to be hospitable - in the hospitality industry
I arrived at the Hotel Le Continental on June 19, 2024 travelling by bike with a friend. They had a room available. While I was checking in, trying to be friendly, I asked the receptionist "Quelle est votre nom"? Her response was "Pour-quoi?" I was dumbfounded. With french as my second language, I didn't know what to say. I considered walking out but my friend was tired from cycling all day and I didsn't want to prolong our search. This (rude) woman should review the meaning of 'hospitality' and consider whether it's really the right fit for her.

Very decent hotel
Visiting Forges for a weekend, the Hotel Le Continental turned out to be very decent for a 3 star.
The reception staff were charming and very welcoming.
We can only regret the following few points:
- the wooden floor of the rooms, which can cause some noise pollution for the lower levels (but hey, that also adds to the charm of the hotel ^^)
- the carpet in the rooms / the absence of air conditioning, which are not necessarily ideal in cases of high heat
- the breakfast buffet is a little light on cheeses and cold meats (which need to be expanded)
Please note for the rooms facing the rear of the hotel: the nearby farmyard with the morning rooster crowing and the turkey gurgling could disturb light sleepers ^^
Recommended for a weekend, ideally located opposite the casino and close to a magnificent park for morning jogging

To flee
To flee ! Old hotel mold in the bathroom toilet in a dirty state. Not worth these 3 stars. Location right in front of the casino the only correct point. Very noisy and a farm right opposite where we hear the animals day and night
