Best place ever

I you want to eat well, sleep well, be entertained by an old Captain who went around the world in his sailboat TWICE, then this is the place to go. I have travelled the world since early 1980' and I have NEVER seen breakfast as Leif serves it - just fantastic!!

Very welcoming

Very friendly welcome with a welcome glass of wine.
Room a little overloaded in terms of decoration.
Clean bathroom.
Very good evening meal: note that the bottle of wine is not included in the price.
Very generous breakfast.

VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Exceptional, truly exceptional. As frequent users of B&B’s and hotels throughout Europe Le Balcon des Jasses in Espere must be one of the very best, if not THE BEST, that we have ever experienced. From the first ‘Hello’ to the last ‘Goodbye’ the service and attention to details was outstanding. Leif and Lucy are fantastic hosts. Everything possible was done to make my wife and I as comfortable and relaxed as possible. The evening meal and the following breakfast were incredible, Lucy is an amazing cook. The room was comfortable, clean and very inviting with little details seldom seen in other B&B’s. Worth every penny. We will definitely return.

Not as expected

Room very hot with no air conditioning, only a fan.
Carpet rugs and bed blanket had animal hair as I am allergic to I could not breathe properly. Information before booking the room was stated no animals/pets but obviously this was wrong as on Trip Adviser it states pets welcome .
I felt unwell and decided to go my husband spoke to the owner that we needed to go . We paid a slight discount for the two nights we booked but did not stay.
On looking at the reviews it does mention the type of experience I had I only wished I read it before hand !
Looking at the facilities it is misleading so please could the owners state clearly that the facilities are what they are, as someone like myself it’s very important in making choice of booking a place to stay .

Excellent B&B with all the trimmings

Excellent comfortable accommodation in which the owner goes the extra mile to make sure that his guest are welcome and that he provides everything for you. Stayed for three nights and took the dinner option which was described as a light dinner, salad with Foie Gras and smoked duck with an oriental twist, selection of cheeses, and a dessert which I had to decline as I was stuffed, followed by coffee and Calvados, with of course good Cahors wine with the meal. Breakfast gave a great selection with fresh cooked if required. A truly great B&B.
