Beautiful Beachcomber Island
Pros:
A Beautiful Fiji Island. Crystal clear water for snorkeling with snorkeling equipment provided free along with kayaks.
Ocean Front Bures on the beach are excellent and well appointed with comfortable amenities.
Buffett Breakfast is very good with custom omelet and eggs cooked to order.
Lunch is average and basic always with chicken and pork and occasionally spaghetti is served.
Dinner has made to order items from a menu that is same every night. All the items were tasty and made fresh upon order.
Cons:
Even though the water that is available to drink from desalination is safe it still tastes like sea water. Highly recommend bring your own bottled water to drink.
With Full Board Meal Package you are still required to purchase soda pop at 7.50 FJD. Alcoholic cocktails start at 28 FJD.
A self serve container of desalinated water is available at the bar.
Cash money is Not Allowed and all purchases are required to be charged to your room account which is settled upon checkout. Cash can be used to settle account. However, if you use a credit card another 4% charge is added to the final bill.
Boat Transfer from Denaru Marina in Nadi cost 155 FJD Each Way and includes a 10 FJD fuel charge.

Disappointing experience – poor communication and no flexibility
I’m very disappointed with my experience with Beachcomber Island Resort.
I had a booking for 15–17 August which I had made because I was travelling to Fiji for a work meeting. Unfortunately, the meeting was postponed, meaning I could no longer travel on those dates.
I contacted the resort and asked if they could provide a refund or, alternatively, a credit towards a future stay. I completely understood that my booking was non-refundable, and I was simply asking whether they could make an exception given the circumstances.
The most frustrating part was the lack of communication. I waited 6 days for a response to my request and had to repeatedly follow up, including calling the resort because I wasn’t getting a reply. By the time I received a response, I had very little opportunity to do anything with the booking. Had they responded promptly, I could potentially have made alternative arrangements or even given the booking to someone else.
Unfortunately, the resort ultimately refused to provide either a refund or a credit.
What makes this particularly disappointing is that I had the exact same situation with another hotel in Fiji during the same week, and they were understanding and provided a refund without any issues. I understand that different hotels have different policies, but I feel there should be some level of customer service and flexibility when someone contacts you in advance and is willing to rebook in the future.
I had actually intended to stay at Beachcomber again when my work meeting was rescheduled, but after this experience, I would be hesitant to book again.
The biggest issue for me isn’t even the refusal of the refund — it’s the poor communication and the fact that I had to constantly chase the resort for a response. A 6-day wait for a response when dealing with a time-sensitive booking is extremely disappointing.
Unfortunately, based on my experience, I would not recommend booking directly with Beachcomber if you need any flexibility or assistance with your reservation.

Loved the staff and my time there!
I loved my holiday at beachcomber.
My balance isn’t great not great and boat transfers and walking on the beach and pathways were challenging for me, but this is what I wanted to do so my family supported me to have the holiday I wanted along with the amazing team at the resort.
The team made me feel welcome and knew me by name.
I love turtles and supported the private tour option, the cost is for 4 people, you can chose to go during the open session but I loved supporting the cause and enjoyed my alone time with my family having this experience.
My balance isn’t great not great and boat transfers and walking on the beach and pathways were challenging for me, but this is what I wanted to do so my family supported me to have the holiday I wanted along with the amazing team at the resort.

Heaven on earth
Heaven on earth is how I described it from the moment we got there. We had a beachfront Bure it was absolutely beautiful right on the beach. The only thing was the island itself was so hot so be prepared for that, and do your feet a favour take some sand/water shoes with you the sand is made of small crushed shells, the food was just ok nothing special, drinks are expensive. Overall beautiful.

Caught Between Two Identities!
Beachcomber has a stunning, beautiful beach - no arguing with that.
The accommodation is basic but comfortable, though know that day trippers arrive at this island at 11:00 am each day!
It’s also important to note that there are still a lot of renovation works going on, which is also impacting the water supply. And that, it doesn’t entirely match the imagery you see online.
Staff also seemed a little flat here, and honestly, I do feel this hotel is at its best when it leans into what it’s always been known for - a party/backpacker/schoolies island - rather than trying to market itself otherwise.
Tips:
Not the best island choice for families. If you’re coming on a day trip, there’s very little shade, which makes it tough going with kids.
The strawberry daiquiris are yum!!
I would pack your own food and snacks and water if staying (or going on a day trip)!
