Hotel at the lake
The food was very good, and the reception staff were very kind.
Late check-in is also possible, which is especially convenient if you are traveling through Finland and don’t want to rush.

Avoid the restaurant. Not sure about hotel rooms
There were 4 other guests at the restaurant yet it took approximately 20 minutes to just get some water. The server was very friendly and tried his best but the food was terrible.
My local friends always tell me that it is obvious when it’s good or cheap reindeer meat. I had never experienced the latter until tonight.
Instead of sautéed reindeer it was more like mince. Tiny little shredded pieces which were incredibly salty. (See photo and check fork so you can see the size of the ‘pieces’).
I ate half of the meal, paid and just left.
So, so disappointed

The perfect base for an Arctic adventure!
All staff both at the hotel and on the trips were friendly, knowledgeable and seemed genuinely committed to making sure we had a good time.
Our large room had a magnificent view of the frozen lake from its glass balcony.
The bed was large and comfortable, shower excellent and the in-room sauna worked well and was quick to heat.
We had half board and were satisfied with the variety available for both breakfast and dinner.
We were so lucky to have fantastic sightings of the northern lights/aurora which, together with the service at the hotel, ensured a memorable 5 night adventure.
