The best reason to visit Philippines !
RESORT :
We stayed at the resort for 4 nights, the hotel has a perfect location, far from all the famous and crowded areas of the Philippines. There is a great garden in front of the beach, a nice swimming pool, some very clean and spacious rooms and the diving center/whale shark tours are located right in the resort so it's super easy every morning. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the meal choice is incredible and most of all, you feel so relaxed in this place. Waking up the morning with a view on the beach, the birds whistling all around and while you eat your chocolate waffle, you see the massive dorsal fin on a whale shark right in front of you.
DIVING CENTER:
If you like to explore areas with no other boats around, being only 3 to 5 divers on the boat, this is your place. After being in the diving factory of Malapascua, we could not enjoy this place more. Great sites full of life, good for soft corals and macro and always the hope to meet a whale shark. Special mention to Napantao, our favorite dive site in Philippines.
WHALE SHARKS: the main reason to our stay here as we wanted an ethical experience and avoid Oslob. We swam with whale sharks on every tour ( we took 5 !!!) and we were most of the time alone. A fantastic experience. Side note: Guests tend to chase whale sharks at full speed sometimes with lot of splashes so maybe divemasters could think about enhancing the approach rules or tell the swimmers when it's too much.
Overhall, it was the highlight of our trip and the place alone is a very good reason to come visit the Philippines

"Eco-friendly" snorkeling.
We didn't stay overnight at the resort, so I can't comment further about the resort itself. We did, however, go on a snorkeling excursion through this resort in search of whale sharks. Communication beforehand via WhatsApp was very smooth and quick. Once we arrived in the morning, things got a bit chaotic, but we were soon on the boat. After a short trip, we saw our first whale sharks, which was, of course, a fantastic experience. We saw three in total, which made us more than satisfied. So then the question is; why the 3-star rating? During the excursion, the animals were extremely agitated. The spotters and other local fishermen circled around, repeatedly trying to chase the animal back towards us. This happened again and again. The guides also ignored the minimum distance we were supposed to maintain. When the whale shark swam right past the boat, the guide told us to jump into the water quickly, which resulted in us almost jumping on top of it. It was all very rushed. This is not an eco-friendly way to snorkel with whale sharks as it supposed should be. Hopefully the resort can make an effort to be more considerate of animal welfare. We're glad we got to see the animals up close in the wild, but we wouldn't want to repeat the experience in this way. More respect for the animals would be appropriate. P.S. The food and drinks are excellent quality at a great price. We have nothing but positive things to say about this.

Loved our stay at Pintuyan. Staff were great. Rooms were clean and beds so comfortable. The restaurant had great variety. Would definitely stay here again.

Highlight of my trip to the Philippines!
While it takes a bit of effort to get to this dive resort, its absolutely worth it! The owner, the guides, and everyone else here are super friendly and helpful, and the diving and whale shark tours are absolutely incredible.
I dove at the Napantao dive site and the reefs were absolutely stunning and teeming with fish. I also did the whale shark tour and was fortunate enough to be in the water with 5 different whale sharks, 2 manta rays, a mobula ray, and 2 turtles. I was also the only one who had booked a whale shark tour that afternoon, and there weren't any other boats around, meaning that I was the only person in the water with the whale sharks, aside from the guide. This made the experience 100x more special than places where huge crowds of people and many boats crowd around a single whale shark. There's also no feeding and no touching, making it an ethical way to see the whale sharks.
The resort itself is also very nice and the food is very good (very cute and friendly pets as well)
