The back area by the river was very nice and relaxing. The way the staff did not communicate was not very helpful. The room was very tacky with the ugly furniture colors-the online pictures are deceiving. The scone by the side of the bed would not turn off so we had a light in all night. The coffee maker didn’t work. There was no information about checkout time of when breakfast was served. I had asked the bartender the night before he stated he had no idea all of the staff went home.

Don’t book, doesn’t respect U.S. military orders

I would not recommend Boho Manor to anyone. I booked a room for the night of my wedding and my fiance is active duty military deployed in the Middle East. He notified me he won’t be back for our wedding and that I needed to cancel any of our wedding plans for the foreseeable future because of the war. Boho Manor is charging us $75 to cancel our room and not offering a refund. I wouldn’t support a business that doesn’t support those fighting for our country. Please book at the neighboring hotel, Highland Dell Lodge. We had the entire hotel blocked for our wedding guests and Herb, the owner, was so kind and communicative. He had no problem refunding our $1,000 deposit and all the guests who booked! Meanwhile, I have spent a month sending messages back and forth with Boho Manor trying to have our $75 cancellation fee refunded. Also, we would have blocked rooms for our guest at Boho Manor, however their communication is so lacking we never got a follow up and I’m so thankful we didn’t because just one room has been frustrating in an already difficult situation.

Such a disappointment.

Our recent stay at Boho Manor was, unfortunately, far from what we hoped it would be. Our room, Unit C, was extremely small and stuffy. Bed was lumpy with gravity pulling us to the middle. Black comforter and pillow shams added an ick factor … not sure how often they might be washed. For what we considered a boutique experience at boutique prices, we were disappointed that basic amenities such as a blow dryer and even hangers were not available.
Highlight of the property was the riverfront seating area. It’s genuinely lovely and easily the best part of the experience. It’s clear the location has a lot of potential, but overall, the property feels run down and in need of some significant attention.
Tips:
• Be sure to check on hours of operation for the restaurant and bars. We were
disappointed that the Speakeasy was closed on a Friday night.
• Guests with mobility issues might have problems navigating the grounds.
• Skip staying there and just enjoy the breathtaking views while dining on the
upper terrace … food was excellent.

Boho Manor has a great concept - it’s a 1920s themed hotel and bar with live music and a speakeasy, which hides behind a bookshelf in a downstairs hallway. When i did the research, it seemed like a super cool experience and possibly a way to see some interesting live music. Unfortunately, it was all pretty disappointing.
Initially, i booked everything online. I had some questions and called the hotel to talk to someone . Well, first off, we got Sam, the AI assistant with a British accent. I could tell he was an AI and asked to speak to a human. He then sent me to the restaurant where another AI picked up with an American accent and I noticed restaurant noise behind in the background and once again, I asked for a human, and after a few loops around with Sam, I finally got a person who was not onsite at the hotel.
I was a little concerned about some of the negative reviews and asked if the hotel was nice and she replied that "it was fully booked this weekend" which should have been a red flag, but curiosity won out. The other red flag was that you had to pay up front.
We got to the lobby and there was nobody at the front desk. We had a room code, but I figured there would be a person to tell us what was happening that night, etc. I walked around and didn't see anyone at all, in the bar, outside, etc. It made me think of the AI hotel in Altered Carbon, and my husband was thinking the same thing.
We finally found someone who worked in the bar and she said just to find our room, which we did. It was TINY with only a full sized bed. The room had no description online and it was the last room, which is why i booked it. There was no closet, ironing board, and the bed was about 18 inches above the ground. The walls were paper thin and next door was a family with some loud 5-year old who wouldn't stop yelling. All for close to $300 a night.
I complained and a worker that I finally found and she said the owner is a stickler about refunding fees and probably wouldn't do it. She offered to try and get us some freebees at the restaurant, but we had plans already. Overall, for $280 plus taxes and fees, it was hugely disappointing. The owner was messaged by the remote worker and the human I found in the lobby and she never called me. I DO NOT RECOMMEND BOHO MANOR TO ANYONE. Plus, what a strange theme for Russian River. I will never do anything like this again. What a shame, though. They could have done a lot more with this property.

Room smelled of sewage. The bathroom was very small with a sliding door. We got the room because we saw a jacuzzi/spa in the listing, but it wasn’t running. Bummer! The speak easy was very cool though and the included breakfast was a plus.
